Best Ways to Complete the Pokedex

Know Their Locations and Evolution Method

Pokemon SV - Lechonk on Pokedex

The easiest way to register most of the Pokemon in your Pokedex is by knowing the locations of each mon and how they evolve! Some Pokemon only appear at a specific time and place, have unique requirements for evolving, or even have multiple evolutions! Get to know and catch them all to quickly complete your Pokedex.

Trade Pokemon With Other Trainers

Another easy way to complete your Pokedex, especially for version-exclusive Pokemon, is to find other trainers and trade with them for the Pokemon you need!

Pokemon Trading Board

Pokemon the other trainer is missing will jump and have a background glow

Pokemon SV - Pokemon with background glow

When trading Pokemon with other trainers, you might see some of your Pokemon in Boxes will jump and have a background glow on their slots. This means the trainer you're trading with doesn't have these Pokemon in their Pokedex yet!

Actively Catch Pokemon

Pokemon SV - Pokemon caught with Great Ball

Try to catch every Pokemon that you haven't caught yet while exploring. In addition to filling your Pokedex, your party will also receive Exp. Points for every Pokemon caught, helping them level up for your next big battle!

But if you're taking a break from training to focus on catching for your Pokedex, make sure to have the best Pokemon for catching, like mons that can inflict status effects and learn False Swipe.

Find Mass Outbreaks

Pokemon SV - Mass Outbreaks of unregistered Pokemon

Rare Pokemon can be found and caught easier by checking for Mass Outbreaks on your map. Pull up your map or look at the minimap from time to time to see if there are outbreaks of the Pokemon you need nearby.

Mass Outbreaks are indicated with a red glowing icon on your map. Outbreaks with a question mark indicate unregistered Pokemon so keep an eye out for these!

About the glimmering charm, while most people probably don't do them, 3* raids actually give a bonus 2 tera shards with the glimmering charm.
