A Tera Raid Event featuring Ditto with guaranteed 5 ivs is now over in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet!
The Ditto encountered was guaranteed to have at least five best IVs and appeared with random Tera Types.
Ditto's Tera Raid Event ended on April 9, 23:59 UTC, and ran alongside the second round of the Samurott Tera Raid Event.
Best Dittos | |
---|---|
6 IVs Shiny | 6 IVs |
0 Speed IVs | 0 Attack IVs |
This is the creme de la creme, the grand prize of this event. while 5 IVs were guaranteed for these event Ditto, the final IV could be any value from 0 to 31. That meant there was a 1 in 32 chance for each raid that it would be a perfect Ditto. add to this that there was only a 1 in 4096 chance of it being shiny and that meant that the odds of finding a shiny 6 IV Ditto were extremely small.
If you receive such a Ditto from a foreign person in a trade you will additionally be able to use the Masuda Method for increased shiny breeding odds. Whilst it is extremely unlikely to randomly happen upon such a trade, using our Foreign Ditto Trading Board (which has a large number of Japanese and English users) is your best chance!
Foreign Ditto Trading Board
Of course having a perfect Ditto means that breeding future competitive Pokemon will be much easier. By breeding with another perfect iv Pokemon and giving it the Destiny Knot, you guarantee that that Pokemon will inherit at least 5 perfect ivS.
Breeding Guide: How to Breed Pokemon and Get Eggs
Having 0 IVs is generally preferred for slower Pokemon in Trick Room Teams. Being the slowest Pokemon on the field allows them to move first under Trick Room.
How to Build a Trick Room Team
Having 0 IVs in Attack is generally preferred for Special Attackers in Competitive and Tera Raids. Having a low Attack means that a Pokemon that has Transformed into you or uses your Attack Stat for damage calculations for a move such as Foul Play can be mitigated.
Competitive Team Building
A Ditto with 5 to 6 perfect IVs could be obtained from these raids. Use this Ditto to breed for stronger Pokemon that you can use in Competitive or Tera Raid Battles.
Additionally, Ditto in this Tera Raid Event could also drop Destiny Knots and Everstones, both very useful items for breeding!
How to Breed for Natures and ivs

Ditto
|
Tera Type:
Random
Ability 1:
Limber
Hidden Ability: Imposter Nature: Random ・ Transform |
Like Ditto's raids in regular Tera Raid Dens, Ditto used Transform to change into the raid host's Pokemon.
Host Counters | |
---|---|
Pokemon | Moveset / Strengths |
Ditto |
・
Transform
・Force the raid Ditto to spam Transform once it transforms into your Ditto. |
Magikarp |
・
Splash
・Force the raid Ditto to spam Splash once it transforms into your Magikarp. |
Sinistea |
・
Shell Smash
・Force the raid Ditto to spam Shell Smash once it transforms into your Sinistea. |
These were the best Pokemon to use if you were the host of the raid. As Ditto always attempted to transform into the host, bringing the weakest Pokemon possible was advised. Ditto's Transform always failed against other Ditto, and Magikarp and Sisistea both have extremely low base stats and weak moves.
Other Player Counters | |
---|---|
Pokemon | Moveset / Strengths |
Iron Hands |
・ Close Combat ・ Belly Drum ・ Drain Punch ・ Wild Charge ・Use Belly Drum to raise Iron Hand's Attack by 6 stages. ・Drain Punch allows you to heal while attacking. ▶︎ Best Iron Hands Build for Tera Raids |
Azumarill |
・ Belly Drum ・ Play Rough ・ Liquidation ・ Helping Hand ・Use Belly Drum to raise Azumarill's Attack by 6 stages. ・Give it a Shell Bell for a recovery option. ・Use Helping Hand to support allies. ▶︎ Best Azumarill Build for Tera Raids |
As Ditto would not transform into the non-host other players, bringing a Pokemon that can deal large damage to swiftly take out the Raid Boss was advised for the other players. If you were the host, it was best not to bring strong Pokemon such as Azumarill and Iron Hands, or the Raid Ditto would have become very difficult to handle!
Ditto Tera Raid Guide: Best Counters and Strategy
Fairy Tera | ||
---|---|---|
Weak to: | ||
(2x) | ||
Damaged Normally By: |
(1x) | |
Resists: | (0.5x) | |
Immune to: | (0x) |
Ditto with a Fairy Tera type can be useful in competitive battles, especially when using Transform against common Dragon-types, and the newly allowed Treasures of Ruin.
After transforming into the opposing Dragon, or Treasure of Ruin, Ditto can then use their same moves, but has the option of terastallizing to Fairy to gain immunity or resistance to their STAB moves.
Steel Tera | ||
---|---|---|
Weak to: | ||
(2x) | ||
Damaged Normally By: |
(1x) | |
Resists: | (0.5x) | |
Immune to: | (0x) |
Ditto with a Steel Tera type is also useful, since Steel types have resistance and immunity to 11 types, making it a great all around defensive Tera option.
Dark Tera | ||
---|---|---|
Weak to: | ||
(2x) | ||
Damaged Normally By: |
(1x) | |
Resists: | (0.5x) | |
Immune to: | (0x) |
By using a Ditto with a Dark Tera type, common support Pokemon with the Prankster ability would be unable to use their increased priority against you, opening outplay possibilities.
Dark tera would also be good defensively in the current meta, due to the popularity of the Dark-type Treasures of Ruin.
Niche Ditto Tera Types | ||
---|---|---|
Electric Tera | Flying Tera | Ghost Tera |
While not as useful all-around as Fairy, Steel, or Dark, these tera types can also be used to gain an advantage in competitive matches. By having an Electric Tera type on your Ditto, you can prevent it from being Paralyzed, even when your Ditto has its Hidden Ability instead of Limber.
Flying and Ghost Tera types are similarly useful, by taking advantage of their type immunities against certain popular moves like Earthquake and Extreme Speed.
This raid event featured random Tera Types for Ditto, so you may have needed to change the Raid Power recipe of the Sandwich you were making depending on the Tera Raid that you were aiming to clear.

To connect to the Internet, simply press the X button to open the menu and press the L button to connect to the Internet.
After connecting to the Internet, unique Tera Raid Crystals will start appearing in the overworld. These are distinct enough from regular Tera Raid Crystals and will sparkle, as seen in the overworld, so you can determine which ones contain the featured Pokemon!
Icon | Explanation |
---|---|
Event Tera Raid icons will sparkle compared to regular Tera Raids. |
Event Tera Raids will also appear differently on the map, as their icons will sparkle!
After connecting to the Internet and having your game data updated, you can immediately group up with other players and join Tera Raids through the Tera Raid Battle menu in the Poke Portal screen, which can be accessed from the main menu by pressing the X button.
Event Tera Raids will have show the feature Pokemon's icon displayed in a yellow box, and the Tera Type will be shown on the upper right.
Alternatively, you can also host Tera Raids once you find a sparkling Tera Raid Crystal in the overworld.
You can either challenge Tera Raids as a group with other players, or you can face them solo.
How to Host Raids Repeatedly for Unlimited Rewards
An important note to keep in mind is that event Tera Raids will have yellow event cards, which can be observed from the Tera Raid preparation screen or the Tera Raid Battle Search menu in Poke Portal.
This is useful so you can determine if the Tera Raid you found or will join is an event raid, and not just a regular one!
Note that you need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to host or join online Tera Raids with other players across the Internet!
