This Build is designed to counter Bug-weak Pokemon in Tera Raids. Scizor matches up favorably against these as it takes resisted damage from Bug. Its typing is also great for offense, as its STAB X-Scissor is very powerful aganist Bug-weak Pokemon.
We also recommend getting a Scizor with a Bug Tera Type as it will increase X-Scissor's power when Scizor Terastallizes. As a physical attacker, an Adamant nature would be best.
Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards bulky offense to help with survivability while still dealing as much damage as possible. Max out your HP and Atk EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Def. The Scope Lens held item will give Scizor a 100% critical hit ratio after a Focus Energy.
Scizor Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Turn 1~3 | Use Swords Dance to boost Scizor's attack stat. |
Turn 4 | Use Focus Energy to boost Scizor's critical hit rate. |
Turns 5+ | Use X-Scissor and KO the Raid Boss |
At the start of the battle, use Swords Dance 3 times to max out your Attack. Then use Focus Energy to give Scizor's a 100% critical hit rate. Finally, use X-Scissor to take out the Raid Boss.

This Scizor Tera Raid Build is an effective counter to Psychic, Dark, and Ice Type Tera Raid Bosses. If the Tera Raid Boss is usually a Fire Type outside of Terastallization, perhaps consider a different build, as Scizor will be weak to these Types as a Bug/Steel Type attacker.
