Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV) received Pokemon HOME support on May 30! The games are now fully compatible with Pokemon HOME! Read on to learn about Pokemon HOME compatibility, how to download Pokemon HOME, the new features it offers and more!
List of Contents
An issue regarding Pecharunt being unable to be transferred to Pokemon HOME was discovered when the Mochi Mayhem Epilogue went live in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
A short maintenance was made for the app and the issue has been fixed, allowing Pecharunt caught in the game to be transferred in Pokemon HOME.
You can get a special Pecharunt sticker you can use to decorate your profile in Pokemon HOME mobile if you transfer Pecharunt from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to Pokemon HOME.
How to Get Pecharunt in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Epilogue (SV)
The Pokemon HOME compatibility update maintenance began at May 29, 5PM PST (May 30, 0am UTC), and is now over! The maintenance time lasted for 6 hours, ending at May 29, 11 PM PST (May 30, 6am UTC), at which point players can finally start transferring Pokemon from HOME to Scarlet and Violet.
According to the Maintenance notice on the Pokemon HOME app, users will be able to log in at staggered times after the update, to avoid server strain on Pokemon HOME's servers. It is expected that some players will be able to transfer their Pokemon immediately after the update at 11pm PST, but some players might access Pokemon HOME much later.
Pokemon HOME Version 3.0.0
Compatibility Patch Update
Pokemon has recently announced that the scheduled date for Pokemon HOME compatibility on May 24 was a mistake. The actual release date for Patch 3.0.0 will be on May 29 instead.
A new feature in version 3.0.0 called Move Tailor allows you to customize your Pokemon's moveset before sending it out to a game, based on its learned moves, as well as available moves within the game it is moving to!
Pokemon HOME will also store data for each of your Pokemon's movesets per game which will make it easily accessible to players looking to swap Pokemon movesets.
Pokemon HOME Custom Move Tailor and Stored Movesets Details
Players who link their game with Pokemon HOME will also receive a Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly with their Hidden Abilities Protean, Unaware and Moxie respectively in the mobile version!
Ability | Effect |
---|---|
Moxie | The user's Attack is increased by one stage whenever it knocks out another Pokemon. |
Protean | Changes the user's type to the type of the move it's about to use. |
Unaware | The user ignores the opponent's stat changes when attacking. |
The Pokemon website also reveals that transferring from Pokemon GO to Pokemon HOME, and from there to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will immediately be available!
With this in mind, try to catch a Roaming Form Gimmighoul in Pokemon GO to transfer over to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet once HOME connectivity is released!
How to Link with Pokemon GO and Rewards
Pokemon HOME allows players to trade Pokemon back and forth between Pokemon Home and the newer Switch Pokemon titles.
This means that transferring Pokemon backwards to Legends Arceus, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and Sword and Shield is possible!
Note: Only Pokemon that exist within those titles are transferrable, so no sending Tinkaton to Galar to wreak havoc on their Corviknight Flying Taxi Service unfortunately!
Pokemon transferred from an older game to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will have their Tera Typing determined by their Type 1 regular typing.
This is a great way to obtain some high iv or shiny Pokemon with the desired Tera Type that are often difficult to get otherwise, such as Steel Tera Gholdengo! Gimmighoul is a Ghost Type, which means evolving it into Gholdengo will always result in a Ghost Tera Gholdengo.
However bringing an already evolved Gholdengo from Pokemon Go will result in a Steel Tera Type due to Gholdengo being a Steel-Ghost Type!
Note that this will not work with all Pokemon, as some Pokemon such as Steel Tera Scizor, and Flying Tera Dragonite will not be possible due to these being their 2nd typings (Bug-Steel, Dragon-Flying, respectively).
It has also been confirmed that there will be Pokemon Scarlet and Violet centered challenges and rewards in Pokemon Home. You will need to send certain numbers of specific Pokemon from specific games to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and vice versa in order to clear these challenges.
Each time you send a Pokemon from Pokemon Home, you will also get LP in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. This may end up being even more lucrative than the Academy Ace Tournament to Farm Money/LP!

The official Nintendo Site has a disclaimer stating that the selection of transferrable Pokemon from other Pokemon games may be limited.
What this may mean is that Pokemon that will appear in the Paldean Pokedex are the only ones that can be transferred Pokemon Scarlet and Violet; there will be several Pokemon which cannot be transferred in the game.
It's currently unknown if this will be similar to the National Dex in Pokemon Sword and Shield, where not every single Pokemon are available to be transferred and used in the game. We'll keep you up-to-date as more information gets released.
Is the National Dex in the Game?
Maintenance may last up to 30 hours from May 30 at 0:00 UTC until May 31 at 06:00 UTC. During this time Pokemon Home will not be available on either the mobile or switch versions. Once the update has been complete, players will finally be able to send Pokemon between Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Pokemon HOME and previous games!
You'll now be able to view results for Official and Friendly Online Pokemon Scarlet and Violet competitions. As long as you have linked Pokemon Home to a Nintendo Account with data from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet you will be able to see results from any competitions you have joined.
In the Top Pokemon Ranked Battle Data you are now able to see which natures are most often used with each Pokemon. This is in addition to the previous most used Items, Abilities and Movesets data.
Mystery Gifts will now be linked to the Nintendo Account holder rather than the individual Switch user. This mean only one Pokemon Home distributed Mystery Gift will be eligible per account going forward.
On February 1, 2023, the Pokemon HOME mobile app was updated and received support to display a player's Ranked Battles information in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
You'll now be able to view information about the top 100 Trainer rankings and frequently used Pokemon for Singles and Doubles battles using the Pokemon HOME app on your mobile device.
Pokemon HOME Ranked Battle Data Feature Update Details
You can now also see your past Ranked Battle performance. You can also toggle to view your data for either Singles or the Doubles
You'll be able to see which Pokemon are commonly paired with other Pokemon, what moves, Abilities, held items, and Tera Types are being used in battles the most.
This data will give you a peek of the current meta and strategies that players all around the world are using.
A new feature in the app also allows you to see the most common Pokemon defeated by a certain Pokemon and what moves are used to defeat them.
Information about the most common counters against that Pokemon and which moves are used to defeat it are also available.
This vital information will let you look at common matchups for certain Pokemon and give you an idea of which Pokemon and moves you should watch out for.
This update only added support for Ranked Battles in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Note that you will still not be able to trade new Pokemon in the app, as that feature will be added in a future update once Pokemon HOME will have full support of the new games.
