Pokemon battles will be returning to its traditional style, with battles being turn based with turn order usually decided by speed and priority.
Pokemon battles being done in this style favors knowledge and skill rather than dexterity and timing.
New Battle Mechanic - Terastallization
Change Your Pokemon's Typing With Terastallization
With Pokemon battling returning to its traditional style, what sets Scarlet and Violet apart from its predecessors are its unique new mechanic: Terastallizing.
Pokemon that have Terastallized gain stronger boosted moves and having their typings replaced.
