On February 27, players around the world celebrated Pokemon Day and a host of announcements including a Pokemon Presents and 7-Star Pikachu Water Tera Raid Event have been made for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV). Read on to learn more about Pokemon Day 2023 and our Pokemon Presents predictions, including DLC, new Legendary Pokemon, spin-off games, Pokemon Home compatibility and more!

The Pokemon Presents has concluded with multiple exciting news for trainers! As of today, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is set to have DLC this upcoming Fall and Winter of 2023. Other news include Pokemon HOME connectivity, new and returning Pokemon, and the the announcement of Pokemon Sleep! There is also a new Raid Event that features 2 new Pokemon Iron Leaves and Walking Wake, Paradox versions of Suicune and Virizion!
Pokemon Presents 2023 Announcements
Pokemon usually has separate dates for their announcements and are not usually part of the main Nintendo Direct. These Pokemon Presents usually include updates and upcoming features for the mainline Pokemon Games.

The 7-Star Water Tera Type Pikachu Tera Raid Event announced for Pokemon Day is now live! This event runs from Friday the 24th February at 0:00 UTC until Monday the 27th February at 14:59 UTC. This Pikachu comes with the Mightiest Mark, and Pokemon Official have warned trainers not to underestimate this Pikachu as it's much stronger than usual!
7-Star Pikachu Pokemon Day Tera Raid Event
Pokemon Day is approaching us this February 27th and to celebrate, Nintendo has dropped some amazing merchandise featuring Pokemon from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet! For amazing rewards, The Pokemon Company and Nintendo has physical and digital rewards up for sale on the My Nintendo Website!

Pokemon has officially announced that this year's theme for Pokemon Day, February 27, is Pokemon Together which revisits the initial concept of the franchise: connecting others!
A trailer was shared by official Pokemon channels to hype trainers and invite them to Pokemon Together!
Following the teaser for Pokemon Presents which dropped on February 21, Pokemon Japan tweeted out the Official Japanese Pokemon Day Website. As of writing there is only the Pokemon Presents Schedule, Teaser Video, official art and links to their social media currently displaying.
As part of the 26th anniversary of Pokemon Red and Green in Japan, various songs from these games have been added in the Pokemon Sound Library website, which is a Japan-exclusive site where you can listen to songs from Pokemon games.
At the time of writing, the website also has music from Pokemon Diamond and Pearl.
A BGM Quiz will also be held on March 16, 2023 at the Japanese Pokemon YouTube channel. This quiz will feature music from Pokemon Red and Green. You can take a look at a preview of the quiz in this tweet.

It's also possible that we'll have a DLC announcement for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet on Pokemon Day. While Scarlet and Violet has a definitive ending to its story, there's also an inaccessible part of the map in the northeastern part of Paldea.
As shown in the image above, the area in the northeastern section of the map is very large and is the perfect place for a DLC area since it coincidentally connects to a late-game area of the map.
It was revealed in the official site for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that it will receive Pokemon HOME support in Spring 2023 which is just a few months after the game's release in November.
Pokemon Day is the perfect time to announce this highly anticipated feature to the games! We'll keep you updated as more information gets revealed!
Pokemon HOME Support Release Date
The Pokemon Company has previously made older Pokemon games available to play on the Virtual Console for the Nintendo 3DS, Wii, and Wii U. This feature, however, was superseded by a feature on the existing Nintendo Switch Online that allows you to play older games.
Currently, you can play the original Pokemon Snap and Pokemon Puzzle League if you have the Expansion pack tier on your Nintendo Switch Online subscription. In addition, the Pokemon TCG for Gameboy Color has also been revealed for Nintendo Switch Online.
While there is currently no announcement of old Pokemon Games coming to Nintendo Switch Online, it is highly likely that they will be announced on Pokemon Day, potentially with Pokemon Home Compatibility! This is looking even more likely now with the recent 15 second Pokemon Presents teaser including Gen 1 music and sillhouetes of the Kanto Pokemon from no.1 through 18.
A tweet from the official Pokemon Japan Twitter account announced that the Pokemon Sound Library website has also added songs from Pokemon Red and Green, which were the first Pokemon games released in Japan.
The addition of songs from these games further provides evidence about the possibility of the old Pokemon games being playable for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers!
The same channel also uploaded a seven-hour Jigglypuff lullaby track, which could also tease an upcoming release of GBC and GBA games!

New Pokemon have been hinted in the game since release, particularly the mysterious Disk Pokemon and Imagined Pokemon within the pages of the Scarlet and Violet Book.
The disk Pokemon, in particular, appears to have a connection to the Terastal phenomenon while the Imagined Pokemon appear to be Paradox versions if familiar legendary Pokemon.
An announcement regarding Spin-Off games is also a possibility during Pokemon Day if there is a Pokemon Presents announcement.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and Pokemon Legends: Arceus were previously announced during past Pokemon Presents, so it's possible that we'll get some news on possible spin-off games on February 27!
Pokemon Shanghai has recently released a poster showcasing a new animated short called Journey of Dreams. This short which focuses on the dreams of the main character is reminiscent of a game revealed in 2019 called Pokemon Sleep. Making people wonder if this mobile app will finally be released with this short as a teaser.
Pokemon Sleep promised to provide a mobile game featuring a “gameplay experience unlike any other,” one in which the game will turn sleeping into an entertaining task, just like how Pokemon Smile and Pokemon Go made brushing your teeth and going on a walk more enjoyable respectively.
A seven-hour track featuring a Jigglypuff singing its iconic lullaby was also recently released in the official Japanese YouTube channel of Pokemon, which could serve as a tie-in with Pokemon Sleep!
