The October 6th (10/6) Trailer has shown off a few more treats for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV). Check out what we learned about the TM Machine, the Let's Go Battle Feature, Picnics, Character Customization Options, and the new Pokemon, Farigiraf.
List of Contents
The trailer reveals that Pokemon that can Terastrallize are visible in the Overworld. These Wild Tera Pokemon are also stronger and often have different Tera types different from their regular type.
Dealing enough damage to a Wild Tera Pokemon also undoes their Terastrallize, making them more susceptible to catching!
All Terastal Forms and Tera Types
With Pokemon Scarlet and Violet having elements of an open world adventure, you can now set destinations on the map! This makes keeping track of your progress a lot easier!
Is Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Open World?
The trailer also shows that the Let's Go! Battle feature is integral in some battles, as showcased when the player faces Team Star's grunts in their base!
How to Auto-Battle with Let's Go!
The TM Machine is a new feature that lets you create Technical Machines (TMs) that allow you to teach Pokemon certain moves.
You can find these machines installed in all Pokemon Centers throughout the Paldea Region, and require League Points and certain items to create your own TM!
TM Machines and How to Use Them
The trailer also shows a glimps of several returning moves, such as Shadow Ball, Work Up, and Echoed Voice!
With players now able to make their own TMs, it's possible to teach these moves to your Pokemon sooner as long as you have enough League Points and materials!
Girafarig can now evolve to Farigiraf and retains its Normal / Psychic dual-typing. This curious Pokemon has its tail on its head is one of the many new Pokemon you'll encounter in the Paldea Region!
The Paldea Region's Pokedex showcases Pokemon in their natural habitat, along with providing general information regarding the Pokemon!
Players can once again customize their character's looks by heading to the Hair Salons. Unlike customization in Pokemon Sword and Shield, hair salons in the Paldea Region have more appearance options that you can tweak such as eyeshape and even color!
Players can take snapshots and selfies with the Camera App complete with filters that let you take cool photos of your journey with your Pokemon!
Camera App Guide: How to Take Selfies
You can use pictures you took with the Camera App to customize your Profile App. The new feature tracks your in-game progress and features Adventure Records such as Badges Collected and even Shiny Pokemon battled!
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet lets you take your Pokemon in Picnics which appear to function similar to Pokemon Sword and Shield's camping feature. You can once again play with Pokemon, and your Pokemon may even play with each other!
Have Picnics for Quality Time with Pokemon
You can gussy your Pokemon up and give them a shower during Picnic! It's currently unknown if this has any effect on the Pokemon, but it may increase friendship similar to grooming mechanics in older Pokemon games.
You can sometimes find Pokemon Eggs during when interacting with the table during a picnic. It's currently unknown how rare this occurs and if it's still possible to obtain Eggs through the Daycare. We'll keep you up-to-date as more infromation gets revealed!
You can also make Sandwiches while you're out on a picnic with your Pokemon! Similar to Curry Making in Pokemon Sword and Shield, you can use food items to make custom sandwhiches for you and your Pokemon to enjoy.
It's currently unknown if Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will once again have a food-related dex, but it's highly likely with the multiple types of Sandwiches you can make!
Cheers make a return in Tera Raid Battles, which is a battle feature that allows you to support other trainers during the battle in the event your Pokemon gets knocked out.
The Cheer system in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet appears to have been expanded, and you can now use different cheers that provide different effects. This includes cheering Heal up! to restore all Pokemon's HP during the Tera Raid Battle!

The section below was written before the release of the trailer. We didn't get it all correct, but did we do a good job guessing? Let us know in the comments!
The previous Scarlet and Violet trailers have followed closely in the footsteps of the trailers for Pokemon Sword and Shield in both release dates and contents revealed. Based on this pattern, it's likely that we'll get similar info in the 5th Scarlet and Violet trailer to that shown in the trailer above.
Expected Content |

・More in-depth info on the Terastal Phenomenon ・More New Pokemon ・New Gym Leaders or Team Star Members |
The 5th trailer of Pokemon Sword and Shield focused mainly on how the Dynamax phenomenon could expand into the Gigantamax phenomenon and featured several Gigantamax evolutions. If there were more to the gimmick than we already know, this would likely be the trailer that would reveal it!
All Terastal Forms and Tera Types
There's nothing folks love more than new Pokemon announcements, and having one or two new Pokemon revealed would definitely add to the hype.
For the past few generations, it seems Pokemon is revealing less and less of what they have to show, though. But it doesn't hurt to wish for more! Here's hoping for starter evolutions!

---|---|
Grusha | Brassius |
As of writing, there are only two known Gym Leaders in the game. Hopefully we'll get to see more type specialists that are either part of the Victory Road challenge, or even other crew leaders of Team Star that we can meet on the Starfall Street.
