The Water Mass Outbreak Event featuring Finizen, Lotad, and Horsea in Paldea, Kitakami, and the Terarium has ended! This event ran from June 07, 2024 to June 9, 2024.

These Water-type Pokemon had a boosted chance of having the Kindly Mark and the event ran alongside the Swampert and Blissey Tera Raids!

Mass Outbreak Events Schedule and Pokemon

Mass Outbreak Locations

The Water Mass Outbreak Event was held in all three maps in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Finizen appeared in Paldea, Lotad appeared in Kitakami, and Horsea appeared in the Terarium. This means that only those that have purchased the DLC have access to Lotad and Horsea outbreaks.

Horsea Locked Behind Base Game and Teal Mask Post-Game

Do note that Horsea outbreaks will only appear in The Indigo Disk's Terarium, which is only accessible if you have finished both the base game and The Teal Mask's stories.

That means that if you want to hunt for a Shiny Horsea or use Kingdra, you need to finish both the base game and The Teal Mask.

Does Not Have Boosted Shiny Chance

The Water-type Mass Outbreak Event does not feature boosted Shiny encounter rates. If you want to Shiny hunt for these Water-type Pokemon, you need to eat a sandwich with a Level 3 Sparkling Power: Water.

To join this mass outbreak event, you needed to connect your game to the Internet to update the game data. Once done, Water-type Pokemon should start appearing on your map!

To connect to the Internet, simply press the X button to open the menu and press the L button to connect to the Internet.

Water Mass Outbreak New Year Event Mark and Title

Water-type Pokemon Can Have the Kindly Mark

During the Mass Outbreak Event, caught Water-Type Pokemon have a higher than usual chance of having the Kindly Mark, conferring upon them the "the Kindhearted" Title when used in battles.

Stock up on Sandwiches and Poke Balls to help you catch a Water-type Pokemon with the mark you want!

1 in 20 Chance of Getting Kindly Mark

There is around a 1 in 20 or a 5% chance for the Kindly Mark to appear on a Pokemon in this Mass Outbreak Event!

Mark Charm May Increase Chance of Getting Marked Pokemon

The Indigo Disk DLC has added the Mark Charm item in the game, which raises the chance of encountering marked wild Pokemon. It is likely that this will also increase the chance of encountering marked Water-type Pokemon during the event.

To get the Mark Charm, you need to register all Pokemon appearing in the Blueberry Pokedex.
