Version 3.0.1 Patch Update has been released on February 1, 2024 and have fixed bugs affecting players in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV), following the release of The Indigo Disk Part 2 DLC. Read on for the full patch notes for the new feature and bug fixes including a Metal Sound TM Material oversight and a level up bug affecting Inkay.
List of Contents
Patch 3.0.1 addressed 2 new issues which arose with The Indigo Disk DLC. The first is an oversight which has left Pokemon Scarlet players unable to farm the materials needed to craft TM 223 (Metal Sound). The second issue to be resolved is a bug which causes the game to fail to register button inputs when levelling up Inkay with items while below level 30.

As you can see in the table above, one of the required Materials to craft Metal Sound (TM 223) is Shieldon Claw. This Material however is unavailble for Pokemon Scarlet Players, as Shieldon is a Pokemon Violet Version Exclusive, essentially locking them out of accessing this TM. This oversight will be addressed in this patch update.
TM Machine Location and How to Make TMs in The Indigo Disk DLC
As a way to make amends for an oversight which locked Pokemon Scarlet players out from crafting this TM, all players (both Scarlet and Violet) will be gifted 10 Metal Sound TM's (TM 223) on December 26!
Start | December 26, 2023 (03:00 UTC) |

End | Late January, 2024 |
Method | Select Get via Internet |
Players are able to get 10x Metal Sound (TM 223) via Mystery Gift by selecting Get via Internet, and can be claimed by players of both Scarlet and Violet from any region.
The distribution begins on December 26, 2023 and will last until the 3.0.1 Patch Update addressing the issue relating to crafting TM 233 in Pokemon Scarlet is released sometime in late January, 2024.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Mystery Gift Codes and How to Get
In Version 3.0.0 of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Dragon Cheer's critical hit boost on a Dragon-type ally lingers even after the boosted Dragon-type Pokemon was switched out in battle and brought back in. Normally, stat boosts are removed after a Pokemon is switched out in battle, but a bug in the game caused Dragon Cheer's effect to still be active even if the affected Pokemon was switched out.
The critical boost notice in the Check Status screen during the battle will not be present after the affected Pokemon is brought back in battle, but it will still be able to easily deal critical hits.
Dragon Cheer TM Location (TM226) and Glitch Details
Another bug introduced with The Indigo Disk DLC leaves the game unresponsive when levelling up Inkay in certain situations. When Inkay is leveled up while below level 30 using items like Rare Candy or Exp. Candy, players encounter a glitch. After the level-up message is displayed, the game becomes unresponsive to any button inputs, affecting gameplay. This issue has been identified and is expected to be addressed in this upcoming patch to ensure smooth gameplay experience.
Inkay Evolution: How to Evolve Inkay in Indigo Disk
A bug wherein players may get stuck between the League Club room wall and the Item Printer after adding it inside the room has been fixed.
Players who encounter this issue may speak to the NPC near the Item Printer and select I want to print something! to get unstuck.
Several TM moves that Calyrex is able to learn while in its Ice Rider and Shadow Rider form with Glastrier and Spectrier will now remain in its moveset even after separating it with the Legendary horses, and it will also be able to remember those move even if Calyrex is no longer united with either Pokemon.
