Farm Pokemon Materials for the Item Printer by auto-battling multiple Sableye in a cave in Paldea's East Province (Area Three) while having a Dark or Ghost Encounter Sandwich Buff in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV) The Indigo Disk. Read our guide for the step-by-step instructions on how to farm Pokemon Materials and the best materials to use in the Item Printer.
List of Contents
There's a spot in a cave in East Province (Area 3) where you can easily farm Pokemon Materials that you can use for the Item Printer. We can exploit the cave's narrow passage to have all the Sableye spawn in one spawn point and have our Pokemon auto-battling them.
Though Sableye Gems do not give the highest conversion rates, it can compensate with the amount you get from this farming method.
If everything works out, your Pokemon can be auto-battling for as long as possible. Occasionally, however, your Pokemon may be forced to retreat. If it does, you can re-enable the Let's Go function and auto-battle more Sableye.
With this method, you can easily farm 999 Sableye Gems in around 30 minutes.

The Pokemon we recommend for this farming strategy are Varoom, Latias, and Solgaleo, mainly for their movement speed for auto-battles.

The cave entrance can be found in one of the lower areas of the East Province's quarry. Fly to the East Province (Area Three) fast travel point and start heading east. The cave would be in the second lower area to the north.
Once you enter the cave, turn right at the fork. This would lead you to a dead end with a nearby trainer.
Once you enter the area with the dead end, set up a picnic and eat a sandwich that would give you the Encounter Power: Ghost or Encounter Power: Dark sandwich buff. This almost guarantees that only Sableye will spawn in the area.
Encounter Power Sandwich Recipes
Bring out your Pokemon to start auto-battling the Sableye. Clear the dead-end area and slowly clear all the Pokemon up the cave's passage to the halfway point of the dead-end and the fork.
How to Auto Battle and Evolve Pokemon
Once you clear the halfway point of the passage, move back to the opening of the dead-end area. You should notice that there's one point of the passage's walls the Sableye spawn in. You want that point to be the edge of where your Pokemon can keep battling.
When done right, a group of Sableye will start spawning at that exact spot repeatedly, and your Pokemon will keep battling them.
Occasionally, your Pokemon may automatically retreat. If it does, repeat the process of clearing out the narrow passage up to the spawn point again and return to the dead-end.
The primary reason for this farming method is to use the materials on the Item Printer. The Item Printer converts the materials into other valuable items, including rare Poke Balls and Tera Shards.

In addition to League Points, Pokemon materials are used for creating TMs. These are then used to teach moves to your Pokemon.
