Rewards	Chest Form Gimmighoul Defeat and capture Chest Form Gimmighoul with different Tera Types during this Tera Raid Event. Treasures and Battle Items Obtain various items which you can use to build battle-ready Pokemon or sell in stores for money.

A special Tera Raid Event featuring Chest Form Gimmighoul in various Tera Types will return on Friday 9th August 00:00 UTC and will run until Thursday 22nd August at 23:59 UTC.

Like its previous event, this even will feature Gimmighoul in its shiny form in 5-Star Raids for lucky players!

Shiny Gimmighoul that were available during the initial run of this Tera Raid Event for the first time in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet!

Unfortunately, it appears as though the shiny rate for Gimmighoul was the base raid odds of approximately 1 in 4103, making it very difficult to shiny hunt.

How to Hunt Shiny Gimmighoul Tera Raids

If You Do Not Get the Shiny, Do the Date Skip Trick

First, attempt all of the 5-Star Gimmighoul Raids (lower star levels may be shiny locked) that have spawned and check for a shiny. As there are 10 Gimmighoul raids that spawn per in-game day, make sure to check all of them. If none of them are shiny, do the date skip trick to refresh the raid dens and do another 10. Rinse and repeat.

Shiny Gimmighoul is Similar in Color to Regular Gimmighoul, so Catch All of Them to be Safe!

As Shiny Gimmighoul only has a very slight change in hue on its body to a pale white, while its chest remains unchanged, it is recommended to catch all Gimmighoul to check if they are shiny or not.

Shiny Gimmighoul and Regular Gimmighoul are almost indistinguishable in Tera Raids! The Chest remains the same color, with the only visible difference being the White body as opposed to its regular Gray body. To make matters worse, colors and shading are distorted slightly during Tera Raid Battles, and there is no shiny animation!

Trainers will need a keen eye for this raid, we recommend you just catch all of the Gimmighoul you encounter and check after.

Annihilape is one of the best Tera Raid counters in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Most players should have one built up already, and if not you can easily do one following this guide. Annihilape's Rage Fist will make quick work of Ghost Tera Gimmighoul, while the combination of Drain Punch and Ragefist is guaranteed to be effective against the remaining Types.

Tera Raid Strategy

Using Annihilape during the Gimmighoul Tera Raid is rather simple.

First use Bulk Up 3 times to boost Annihilape's Attack and Defense while taking hits to build Rage Fist's BP.

Follow up with 3 Screeches to lower Gimmighoul's Attack to -6 while taking hits to further build Rage Fist's BP.

Use Drain Punch when necessary against Types that are affected by it to regain HP.

Finally, use Rage Fist to take out Gimmighoul.

Tera Raid Level Depends on Game Progress

The level of raids that appeared on the map is dependent on the player's progress in the game and how many Gym Badges have been earned so far.

Since the raid are 4 and 5-Star Tera Raids, make sure you reach the required game progression to unlock them!

How to Increase Tera Raid Star Level

Connect to the Internet

To join this raid event and spawn these special Tera Raid Crystals, you will need to connect your game to the Internet to update the game data. Once done, event Tera Raid crystals should start appearing on your map!

To connect to the Internet, simply press the X button to open the menu and press the L button to connect to the Internet.

Check the Map for Sparkling Tera Raid Crystals

After connecting to the Internet, unique Tera Raid Crystals will start appearing in the overworld. These are distinct enough from regular Tera Raid Crystals and will sparkle, as seen in the overworld, so you can determine which ones contain the featured Pokemon!

Join an Event Tera Raid

After connecting to the Internet and having your game data updated, you can immediately group up with other players and join Tera Raids through the Tera Raid Battle menu in the Poke Portal screen, which can be accessed from the main menu by pressing the X button.

Event Tera Raids will have show the feature Pokemon's icon displayed in a yellow box, and the Tera Type will be shown on the upper right.

Hosting Event Tera Raids

Alternatively, you can also host Tera Raids once you find a sparkling Tera Raid Crystal in the overworld.

You can either challenge Tera Raids as a group with other players, or you can face them solo.

Event Tera Raids in Yellow Cards

An important note to keep in mind is that event Tera Raids will have yellow event cards, which can be observed from the Tera Raid preparation screen or the Tera Raid Battle Search menu in Poke Portal.

This is useful so you can determine if the Tera Raid you found or will join is an event raid, and not just a regular one!
