Collect 999 Gimmighoul Coins to Evolve Gimmighoul into Gholdengo

To evolve Gimmighoul into a Gholdengo, collect 999 Gimmighoul Coins then raise Gimmighoul's level while you have the coins in your bag.

The evolution will consume all 999 Gimmighoul Coins in your inventory, so you need to collect coins again if you want to evolve another Gimmighoul.

Listen Closely to Find Hidden Gimmighouls

Roaming Gimmighouls will make a sound similar to loose change, or clanging metals. Use this as a clue to pinpoint their location.

How to Farm Gimmighoul Coins

Gimmighoul Locations

Click the chest icon in the top right of the map below to show all Gimmighoul Chest locations!

Then, click Name on the left to show details of the levels and number of coins of each Gimmighoul Chest.

Chest Forms are Usually Found on Watchtowers

Chest Form Gimmighouls are mostly found on the top of Watchtowers, but can also be spotted in other locations such as the ruins.

It is recommended to catch the first one you encounter so that when you defeat and catch the succeeding Gimmighouls, you will obtain coins that can quickly evolve your Gimmighoul into a Gholdengo!

Roaming Form is Now Available to Catch

Roaming Form Gimmighoul will be available in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet later today by linking your Pokemon GO account with your game!

Gimmighoul is stated to have two forms, a Chest Form and a Roaming Form. Gimmighoul is able to switch to Roaming Form when Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet is linked to Pokemon GO, which will be made available in 2023 according to the official website.

Based on the official site's labeling of its Type as ?????, it seems likely that the Roaming Form will be a different type from its Ghost-type-only Chest Form.
