How to Join the Tandemaus Raid Event

Connect to the Internet

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Connect to the Internet through Poke Portal

To encounter the Tandemaus of this event and spawn these special Tera Raid Crystals, you needed to connect your game to the Internet to update the game data. Once done, event Tera Raid crystals would appear on your map!

To connect to the Internet, simply press the X button to open the menu and press the L button to connect to the Internet.

Check the Map for Sparkling Tera Raid Crystals

After connecting to the Internet, unique Tera Raid Crystals will start appearing in the overworld. These are distinct enough from regular Tera Raid Crystals and will sparkle, as seen in the overworld, so you can determine which ones contain an Eevee!

Look for Sparkling Tera Raid Icons

Icon Explanation
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV) - Event Tera Raid Icon Event Tera Raid icons will sparkle compared to regular Tera Raids.

Event Tera Raids will also appear differently on the map, as their icons will sparkle!

Join an Event Tera Raid

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV) - Tera Raid Battle Search

Event Tera Raids will have a Tandemaus icon displayed in a yellow box, and the Tera Type will be shown on the upper right.

Hosting Event Tera Raids

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Tera Raid Event Menu

Alternatively, you can also host Tera Raids once you find a sparkling Tera Raid Crystal in the overworld.

You can either challenge Tera Raids as a group with other players, or you can face them solo.

Event Tera Raids in Yellow Cards

An important note to keep in mind is that event Tera Raids will have yellow event cards, which can be observed from the Tera Raid preparation screen or the Tera Raid Battle Search menu in Poke Portal.

This is useful so you can determine if the Tera Raid you found or will join is an event raid, and not just a regular one!

Nintendo Switch Online Subscription Required for Online Play

Note that you need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to host or join online Tera Raids with other players across the Internet!

Can Hidden Ability and Shiny Tandemaus Appear?

Tandemaus with Hidden Ability Available in 3★ Raids Up

Tandemaus with the Hidden Ability, Own Tempo, had a chance to appear in 3★ raids and up.

If you had planned on stocking up on Tandemaus with a Hidden Ability, this event was your opportunity to do so as all sparkling Tera Raid Crystals were guaranteed to have Tandemaus; you just need to check if they are 3★ or higher.

List of Hidden Abilities

Low Possibility for Shiny Tandemaus Raid

Shiny Pokemon can appear in Tera Raid Battles, but since there was no announcement that there are increased chances of Shiny Tandemaus appearing, the chances of shiny Tandemaus raids appearing may be similar to regular raids, which is low.
