A special Valentine Tera Raid Event for Tandemaus has been revealed! Tandemaus with different Tera Types to its usual type will be appearing frequently in these special Tera Raid Battles at unique Tera Raid crystals in the overworld. This Tera Raid Event ran from Febuary 13 to Febuary 14, and has now ended.
While the above pictured Tandemaus has a Fairy Tera Type (very fitting for Valentine!), Tandemaus of various Tera Types were featured in this event.
The level of the Tandemaus raids that appeared on the map was dependent on the player's progress in the game and how many Gym Badges had been earned.

How to Join the Tandemaus Raid Event |
---|
To encounter the Tandemaus of this event and spawn these special Tera Raid Crystals, you needed to connect your game to the Internet to update the game data. Once done, event Tera Raid crystals would appear on your map!
To connect to the Internet, simply press the X button to open the menu and press the L button to connect to the Internet.
After connecting to the Internet, unique Tera Raid Crystals will start appearing in the overworld. These are distinct enough from regular Tera Raid Crystals and will sparkle, as seen in the overworld, so you can determine which ones contain an Eevee!
Icon | Explanation |
---|---|
Event Tera Raid icons will sparkle compared to regular Tera Raids. |
Event Tera Raids will also appear differently on the map, as their icons will sparkle!
After connecting to the Internet and having your game data updated, you can immediately group up with other players and join Tera Raids through the Tera Raid Battle menu in the Poke Portal screen, which can be accessed from the main menu by pressing the X button.
Event Tera Raids will have a Tandemaus icon displayed in a yellow box, and the Tera Type will be shown on the upper right.
Alternatively, you can also host Tera Raids once you find a sparkling Tera Raid Crystal in the overworld.
You can either challenge Tera Raids as a group with other players, or you can face them solo.
An important note to keep in mind is that event Tera Raids will have yellow event cards, which can be observed from the Tera Raid preparation screen or the Tera Raid Battle Search menu in Poke Portal.
This is useful so you can determine if the Tera Raid you found or will join is an event raid, and not just a regular one!
Note that you need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to host or join online Tera Raids with other players across the Internet!
Tandemaus with the Hidden Ability, Own Tempo, had a chance to appear in 3★ raids and up.
If you had planned on stocking up on Tandemaus with a Hidden Ability, this event was your opportunity to do so as all sparkling Tera Raid Crystals were guaranteed to have Tandemaus; you just need to check if they are 3★ or higher.
Shiny Pokemon can appear in Tera Raid Battles, but since there was no announcement that there are increased chances of Shiny Tandemaus appearing, the chances of shiny Tandemaus raids appearing may be similar to regular raids, which is low.

Maushold will either evolve into its Family of Three or Family of Four form at random. Although there is no difference in abilities or stats between the two forms, the Family of Three form is significantly rarer and is a must get for completionists.

If you match Tandemaus' Normal typing with its Tera Type, you will be able to increase its offensive potential as it will now hit harder when when using a move that matches its type while it is Terastallized.
What is STAB? How to Use STAB Effectively
By Terastallizing Tandemaus to Ghost, you remove its only weakness, Fighting, and replace it with an immunity instead! Ghost will also allow Tandemaus to hit Ghost Types for STAB super-effective damage, which otherwise are immune to its STAB Normal moves.
By Terastallizing Tandemaus to Fighting, it is able to hit Rock and Steel Types that normally resist its Normal Type STAB moves with STAB super effective Fighting Type moves.
These are the next best Tera Types for Maushold
