The Dragon Mass Outbreak Event featuring Dratini, Jangmo-o, and Duraludon in Paldea, Kitakami, and the Terarium has ended! This event ran from December 25, 2023 to January 3, 2024.

These Dragon-type Pokemon had a boosted chance of having the Joyful Mark.

Mass Outbreak Locations

The Dragon Mass Outbreak Event was held in all three maps in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Dratini appeared in Paldea, Jangmo-o appeared in Kitakami, and Duraludon appeared in the Terarium. This means that only those that have purchased the DLC have access to Jangmo-o and Duraludon outbreaks.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet - Archaludon

Do note that Duraludon outbreaks will only appear in The Indigo Disk's Terarium, which is only accessible if you have finished both the base game and The Teal Mask's stories.

That means that if you want to hunt for a Shiny Duraludon or use Archaludon, you need to finish both the base game and The Teal Mask.

Does Not Have Boosted Shiny Chance

The Dragon-type Mass Outbreak Event does not feature boosted Shiny encounter rates. If you want to Shiny hunt for these Dragon-type Pokemon, you need to eat a sandwich with a Level 3 Sparkling Power: Dragon.

To join this mass outbreak event, you needed to connect your game to the Internet to update the game data. Once done, Dragon-type Pokemon should start appearing on your map!

To connect to the Internet, simply press the X button to open the menu and press the L button to connect to the Internet.

Dragon-type Pokemon Can Have the Joyful Mark

During the Mass Outbreak Event, caught Dragon-Type Pokemon have a higher than usual chance of having the Joyful Mark, conferring upon them the "the Joyful" Title when used in battles.

Stock up on Sandwiches and Poke Balls to help you catch a Dragon-type Pokemon with the mark you want!

1 in 20 Chance of Getting Joyful Mark

There is around a 1 in 20 or a 5% chance for the Joyful Mark to appear on a Pokemon in this Mass Outbreak Event!

Mark Charm May Increase Chance of Getting Marked Pokemon

The Indigo Disk DLC has added the Mark Charm item in the game, which raises the chance of encountering marked wild Pokemon. It is likely that this will also increase the chance of encountering marked Dragon-type Pokemon during the event.

To get the Mark Charm, you need to register all Pokemon appearing in the Blueberry Pokedex.
