Miraidon matched up favorably against Walking Wake as it is resistant to Water and Fire-type attacks thanks to its typing. Its typing is also good for offense, as its STAB Electro Drift was super-effective against Walking Wake.
Miraidon Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Turn 1 | Use Charge to double Electro Drift's base power next turn. |
Turn 2 | Use Electro Drift and KO Walking Wake. |
If Walking Wake used Noble Roar on the first turn, it would take an additional turn to Knock it out due to the Sp. Atk debuff
Following our recommended build and strategy, it should take approximately 2 turns to defeat Walking Wake.

The biggest reward for participating in this special Tera Raid event was the chance to catch the Paradox Pokemon Walking Wake!
Walking Wake is a dual Water/Dragon-type that appears to be based on Suicine.
This Paradox Pokemon is currently not obtainable through other means and was only available to catch during this special Tera Raid Event!
Although Walking Wave is exclusive to Pokemon Scarlet players and Iron Leaves to Pokemon Violet players, you could catch both by joining a player hosting a Tera Raid with the Paradox Pokemon you want to catch!
Iron Leaves Tera Raid Event: Best Counters and Rewards
Despite being a one-time catch per save file like the previous Raid Pokemon, Nintendo confirmed on their official website that both Walking Wake and Iron Leaves will appear again in future events.

Walking Wake, during the Tera Raid, had a Water Tera Type and not its regular Water and Dragon typing.
Due to this, Walking Wake's main weakness during the raid were Electric-type moves. Water is also weak to Grass, but Walking Wake can use Flamethrower which can easily counter Grass-type Pokemon.
For the Iron Leaves Raid event, Walking Wake was Shiny Locked. There is currently no legitimate way to get a Shiny Walking Wake, but may change in the future, most probably as part of the DLC.
Can You Get Shiny Walking Wake?
Paradox Pokemon currently have no way to breed, and will not produce eggs, even when paired with a Ditto.
As with most special Tera Raid Pokemon, you could only catch one Walking Wake and Iron Leaves per game.
You could still participate in Tera Raids with these Pokemon and get rewards, but you could only catch one Walking Wake and one Iron Leaves on your game.
