There is currently no announcement if Battle Bond Greninja will become available to catch in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV). Read on to learn when Battle Bond Greninja may release, how it was distributed in past games, as well as how the Battle Bond Ability functioned in the previous games.

There is currently no information if the Battle Bond Ability will be available for Greninja in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Currently. you can get a Greninja with either its standard Ability Torrent, or its Hidden Ability Protean.
The special 7-Star Tera Raid that featured a Greninja with Poison Tera Type had the Hidden Ability Protean instead of Battle Bond. Those who cleared the raid were able to get this, and can obtain a Froakie with Torrent by breeding.
Battle Bond Greninja was only available once as a Mystery Gift in Pokemon Sun and Moon for playing the game's demo. This Greninja with the Battle Bond Ability was modeled after Ash's Greninja from the Pokemon Animated Series.
Battle Bond Greninja is a special variant of Greninja that has the Battle Bond Ability instead of Torrent and lacks a Hidden Ability.
In the previous games, whenever a Battle Bond Greninja knocks out a Pokemon, it transforms into Ash-Greninja who will have increased stats similar to a Mega Pokemon and boasting a base stat total exceeding pseudo-legendaries!
The Battle Bond Ability also increases the base power of the move Water Shuriken from 15 to 20.

Greninja Stats, Moves and Evolution
Many Abilities were changed in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, such as Protean and Libero now only activating once per battle instead of every time a Pokemon uses a move.
Since Ash-Greninja has not been available in the games since Pokemon Sun and Moon, it's possible that Battle Bond will have its effect changed once it gets implemented in the game. We'll keep you up-to-date with more information about this Ability and possible changes!
