Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV) Walkthrough Comments
Only 6 badges are needed to unlock 4★ Raid Battles. After beating the 6th gym there is a 30% chance of encountering a 4★ Raid.
I'm not entirely sure it's necessary to have 7 badges in order to unlock 4★ raids. I was about to do so, but literally ran into a 4★ den in the process of unlocking the gym. I could see a raid beacon ahead of me as I started the downhill test for the Ice gym, which again *would* be my seventh gym, but it was temporarily despawned for the gym test event. As soon as I finished the test, I went back to find the raid, and it had a 4★ Ursaring.
