you need to reset the game. The guide should read "repeat steps 2-4" not "3 and 4." Personally, I like to set to yesterday, save, turn the online date back on, and just reset without saving. the items wont change even after changing the time
Usually i get items within 2-4 rounds but for a 6-bundle of PPup i actually spent 49 minutes bidding
As far as I'm aware, you can only pay in cash, and some items get really really expensive. One bundle of 3 PP Max went in the 200,000-300,000 range, and a single Friend Ball was 350,000+
you can actually use the auction immediately after the gym test you do not need to fight Kofu first
