Version 1.1.0 launches the Online Ranked Battles, while fixing several of the bugs and exploits players have been using in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV). Read on to see all patch notes, fixes, and more about the update!

Duplication Exploit Patched

The exploit which allowed players to duplicate items by making a copy of their box legendary in both the party and in Ride Form has been patched. Specifically, the step where the player hits the A button and B button in quick succession no longer works.

If you're still hoping to take advantage of this exploit, be sure to do it before updating your game!

How to Use the Duplication Glitch

RNG Bug Confirmed Fixed After Testing

Notable players such as Anubis noticed that the RNG within the Casual Battle mode seemed to be experiencing technical difficulties. Instead of true randomization, players had found that specific moves would always hit or miss on certain turns of a match, meaning that a 90% accuracy may always miss, or a OHKO move may always hit depending on the current turn of battle.

After extensive testing, we were unable to replicate the bug following the 1.1.0 patch update, so it appears this has been resolved in time for the Ranked Battle launch. A bug of this caliber could make for a highly unstable metagame, so luckily this bug was patched in time.

Picnic Item Farm Not Patched After Testing

Picnic Item Farm - Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV)

After testing, our team has also determined that farming Star Pieces and other items that can be picked up on the field through the picnic mechanic hasn't been patched out of the game yet either despite the update.

The exploit involves laying a picnic table over the item in such a way that it gets covered by the egg basket. Once you eat a sandwich that raises Egg Power and have two of the same Pokemon in your party, you will only need to wait for a while before finding Star Pieces or other items in the Egg Basket.

Run Faster Glitch Not Patched After Testing

Players can still use a second pair of Joycon controllers to increase your movement on foot in Version 1.1.0. Note that this glitch only works if your Switch is in handheld mode.

Pokemon Battle Teleport Exploit Not Patched After Testing

The exploit that allows you to teleport in inaccessible places by initiating a Pokemon battle has not been patched in Version 1.1.0.

After testing, our team can still teleport their player character during a battle and reach areas that are usually inaccessible such as the small islands surrounded by the water.

Egg Glitch Patched After Testing

A bug that was present in the earlier versions that changes the icon of the Egg into the Pokemon that it will hatch into has been patched in Version 1.1.0.

This glitch involves pressing the Minus (-) button to select and pick up an Egg in the Boxes menu. Doing so, causes the Egg icon to change into the Pokemon it will hatch into for a few seconds before changing back into the Egg icon.

・Other select bug fixes have been made.

Version 1.1.0 Download Filesize

Probably around 1 GB

The Version 1.0.1 Update that rolled out with the game's release took about 1 GB of space. We can expect this next patch to be around the same size.

As the update contains important features for playability, be sure to free this space up in advance, and avoid playing the game without the patch (unless you're trying to get your last few item dupes in).
