This is a guide to the Dereliction Skill in Monster Hunter Rise (MH Rise): Sunbreak. Learn what the Dereliction Skill does at each level, which Armor and Decorations have this skill, and our builds that use Dereliction.

Dereliction Skill Effects

Skill Effect
Qurio will drain health, but also bolster your attacks. Multiple Qurio further bolster attacks and let you recover health when performing a Switch Skill Swap.
Level Effect by Level
1 Using Red Scroll: Increased elemental and status values, Using Blue Scroll: Increased attack and stun potency
2 Bolsters your attacks depending on which Swap Scroll is used.
3 Further bolsters your attacks depending on which Swap Scroll is used.

Can You Roll Dereliction via Qurious Armor Crafting?

NO. Dereliction is not obtainable as an extra skill on your armor when you try rolling for skills via Qurious Armor Crafting.

Best Armor Augments and Armor Recommendations

Qurios Increase Every 50 Seconds

MH Rise Sunbreak - Dereliction: Qurio Increase
By default, you start with one Qurio when using this skill. Then, every 50 seconds, a new one will appear until you reach the limit of three Qurios. However, if you are already at 1 HP by the time a new Qurio would appear, none will appear at all.

Attack Power Increases During Switch Skill Swap (Blue)

When you Switch Skill Swap to the Blue scroll and continue using it, you get a higher Attack stat (see below). Stunning monsters also gets easier each time, though the exact numbers are a bit hard to test.

No. of Qurio 1 2 3
Skill Lv. 1 +15 +20 +25
Skill Lv. 2 +20 +25 +30
Skill Lv. 3 +25 +30 +35

Elemental and Status Values Increase During Switch Skill Swap (Red)

When you Switch Skill Swap to the Red scroll and continue using it, you get higher Elemental and Abnormal Status values (see below).

Increased Elemental Value

No. of Qurio 1 2 3
Skill Lv. 1 +5 +8 +12
Skill Lv. 2 +7 +12 +15
Skill Lv. 3 +10 +15 +20

Increased Abnormal Status Value

No. of Qurio 1 2 3
Skill Lv. 1 +5% +10% +15%
Skill Lv. 2 +10% +15% +20%
Skill Lv. 3 +15% +20% +25%

Health is Gradually Decreased

MH Rise Sunbreak - Dereliction: Health Drain

This GIF was sped up to showcase the health drain.

Dereliction will gradually reduce your HP by 1 per second as long as you have the skill on. Once you reach 1 HP, your HP won't be reduced to 0 because of Dereliction.

Compatible Equipment and Items

Compatible Equipment and Items
Weapons Hunting Horn
(Health Recovery / Regen songs)
Insect Glaive (Heal Powder-type Kinsect)
Skills Blood Rite Resentment
Strife Bloodlust
Item Gourmet Fish -
Dango Hide-and-Seek
(Super Recovery Dango)
-

Dereliction will always gradually drain your HP, so it's good to use it with Hunting Horns and Insect Glaives that have a healing effect. Eating for Lv. 4 Super Recovery Dango and taking in a Gourmet Fish can counter Dereliction's health drain.

The Blood Rite skill is also good because you will recover health as long as you hit a broken monster part. Bloodlust is unique as it drains health faster, but it restores red HP upon overcoming the Frenzy.

You can also take advantage of the fact that you're always going to have red health and combine it with the Resentment or Strife skills, which increase your attack power as long as you have red health. As this does NOT count as a status, Resuscitate will have no effect.

Regain HP by Switch Skill Swapping

MH Rise Sunbreak - Dereliction: Heal and Consume Qurio
By Switch Skill Swapping, you can recover some HP and consume 1-2 Qurios. How much you recover is determined by the current amount of Qurios you have (see below). Note that you cannot recover HP this way if you only have one Qurio because you will always leave one Qurio behind.

No. of Qurio HP Recovered
1 N/A
2 50 HP (1 Qurio)
3 100 HP (2 Qurio)

Affected By Recovery Up Skill

Just like with Potions, regaining HP by Switch Skill Swapping is affected by the Recovery Up skill and the Analeptic and Medicinal dangos. This is not to be mistaken with the Recovery Speed skill, which does not affect Dereliction whatsoever.
