Bladescale Hone works by dodging attacks to receive bonus effects. The evasion doesn't have to be perfect, but it helps to stay aggressive by dodging properly. Note that only regular evasive moves will activate the skill. This means dodge rolls, backhops, and sidesteps will work with the skill, but counters and several Silkbind Attacks won't count.
Melee weapons recover 20 points of sharpness regardless of the weapon type and skill level when the skill activates. Remember that counters don't work with the skill, so this isn't an ideal skill for that play style.
Bladescale Hone reloads your entire clip instantly after dodging. This can be useful if you're using ammo that isn't on the Fast or Fastest reload speed.
Dodgebolt and Charging Sidestep both activate Bladescale Hone. While active, this gives your Close-range Coating around a 10% boost for 30 seconds. While this doesn't put it on the level of Power Coating, it brings it closer to its damage output while having a practically infinite supply.
