This is a guide to armor pigments, an armor cosmetic feature in Monster Hunter Rise (MH Rise). Learn how to change your Armor's color, how to unlock the armor pigment feature, and which armor's color can be changed.

How to Change Armor Pigment

Go to appearance settings on the Item Box

Monster Hunter Rise - Armor Pigment Option

The Armor Pigment option is under the appearance section on the Item Box. This can be done on any Item Boxes in the village.

Choose from a preset color to change armor pigment

You can choose the color of your armor's customizable color part from the default color patterns on the right side of the screen. After choosing a color, simply exit the menu then choose to apply when prompted if you want to apply the color changes to your armor.

You can save a color palette

If you don't like any of the preset colors found within their selection, you can modify them on your own. Once modified, you can save your custom palette for future use.

How to Unlock Armor Pigment

Reach HR 4

Monster Hunter Rise - High Rank (HR) 4 High Rank

HR 4 is a minimum requirement to unlock the armor pigment option. HR 4 is also the milestone to reach the High Rank quests in Monster Hunter Rise. From here, there will be several harder quests and several new items to get to craft stronger gear!

How to Unlock High Rank

Only usable on High Rank armor


LR Kamura Armour's pigment unchangeable.


Even if you unlock the Armor Pigment option, you will still not be able to change your character's armor unless it is high rank armor.
