Seregios' bladescales are known to stand up when enraged. This mode unlocks new ranged attacks that causes bleeding so be extra careful with this!
In the past games, Seregios was weakest to Thunder followed by Ice. Its usual weakspots included its head, stomach, and legs. It was a common tactic for hunters to constantly target its legs to trip it often.
Seregios is known to inhabit warmer regions. In fact, the trailer shows it in the Sandy Plains. It's also possible that Seregios might appear in the Lava Caverns, based on its previous appearance in the Volcanic Hollow in Generations Ultimate.
The addition of Seregios introduces the new bleeding status into the Monster Hunter Rise universe.
Bleeding has been updated in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. While Bleeding, performing actions will fill up the Bleeding Buildup Gauge. How much this gauge is built up will affect the extra damage you get when you are attacked by the monster you're up against. Like in older games, crouching remove this status.
Name | Description |
---|---|
Roar | A loud roar that can deafen hunters, temporarily stunning them. |
Claw Dive | Seregios flies up in the air and plunges its claws towards its target. |
[Bladescale Shots](#hm_8 | A long-range attack where Seregios launches its sharp blades. |
Tail Swipe | Astalos swipes its scale-filled tail to deal damage. |
Claw Scratch | A quick attack against hunters who stand too close to Seregios' legs. |
Roar Attack Information |
---|
![]() Roar: Like most large monsters, Seregios has a roar that can temporarily stun hunters. In the past games, its roar was fairly weak, so Earplugs level 3 should be enough to negate it. |
Seregios can soar up in the air and plunge towards hunters below, grazing them with its sharp scales and claws.
Claw Dive Variations |
---|
![]() Forward Claw Dive: Seregios' most iconic move has it quickly fly to the air and then dive toward hunters with its sharp claws. It can do this twice in succession when enraged. Getting hit by its claws enough times can cause Bleeding. |
![]() Swooping Claw Dive: Sometimes, Seregios doesn't dive straight down to hunters. In Generations, it occasionally flew to the side while it was descending toward hunters. |
Seregios raises its sharp scales and fires them at hunters. The scales can come from its head or its tail when it swings it around. Letting too many scales hurt you will inflict Bleeding.
Bladescale Shots Variations |
---|
![]() Bladescale Shots: While on the ground, Seregios fires its scales towards its targets. |
![]() Aerial Bladescale Shots: Seregios can also fire its scales from its wings while flying. |
Tail Swipe Attack Information |
---|
![]() Tail Swipe: Seregios can use its tail like a mace and swing it against hunters. |
Claw Scratch Attack Information |
---|
![]() Claw Scratch: In Generations, Seregios would punish hunters who get too close trying to attack its legs. This attack had it stand on its legs and then scratch them with its claws. |

In the past games, Seregios weapons had a unique capability to auto-sharpen blademaster Weapons and auto-reload Gunner weapons when evading. The Seregios Bow also boosted the power of Close Range Coating. Hopefully we can get this unique mechanic back in Sunbreak!
In addition to their unique mechanics, Seregios Weapons were also popular due to their decent raw damage, good affinity, and natural purple sharpness.
Seregios Armor was also an interesting set in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. In addition to giving Constitution to reflect the monster's agility, it also had Bladescale. This special skill enhanced the properties of the Seregios Weapons and gave other weapons these unique effects as well!
