Best Armor Augments and Armor Recommendations
Whenever you perform a Switch Skill Swap with this skill on at the right time, you'll reduce all incoming damage and won't get flinched. The amount of damage taken is completely negated at Lv 2, but it still has a significant effect at Lv 1. The timing is somewhat tight though since you can only pull off Redirection around the start of the skill swap animation. Evade Window does not seem to help make it easier to activate.
Skills that take advantage of Switch Skill Swap can synergize well with Redirection. Quick Breath, in particular, can be useful for weapons like the Lance, Gunlance, and Heavy Bowgun since they won't always have to sheathe to heal up.

Against the same fireball attack with the same armor skills, Redirection reduced the damage taken from around 67 health to about 22 health. We can round this to about a 70% damage reduction.
Redirection also gives back half a Wirebug Gauge when you successfully evade an attack with it at Lv 2. This can be useful for weapons that use Silkbind Attacks with long cooldown times like the Gunlance. Skills like Wirebug Whisperer do not affect how much gauge is restored.
Just like regular Swap Evades, the evasion distance after Redirection activates also increases with Evade Extender. You'll be farther from the monster afterward though, so you'll have to decide if you want to keep it on for safety or remove it to counterattack quickly.
The direction you're facing doesn't matter for Redirection as long as you successfully evade an attack. However, the evade direction will always be backward, so consider your positioning when using this skill.
