Learn how to download the Sunbreak DLC for Monster Hunter Rise on Nintendo Switch or Steam with the following steps. This is the guide for you if you're having trouble downloading Sunbreak, or wondering about its download filesize.

If you're having difficulty downloading Sunbreak, be sure that the release time of the game has already passed in your region, as these times differ between the Nintendo Switch version and the PC version. Our Release Time page has details on what time the game will release in each time zone.

If the release time in your region has just passed, but you can't get into the game, it's highly likely that the server is overloaded and it will simply take a few minutes to allow everyone into the game.
When this occurs, simply continue attempting to start the software. After a few minutes, you should be able to start up Sunbreak with no problem!

| 1 |  Hover over Monster Hunter Rise in your main menu, then press the + button on your controller. |
| 2 |  Go to Software Update, then press "Via the Internet." You will also need to close the game if it's currently running. It should be downloading now! |
| 3 |  Hit Check on starting the game.When the game has just been released in your time zone, it might not be available for a few minutes. If you can't get in a few minutes after midnight, continue pressing Check every few seconds, and eventually you should be able to enter the game. |
The PC version of Sunbreak is currently available for download. The Sunbreak DLC released on Steam at midnight, US eastern time on June 30th.

Given all the content and features coming with Sunbreak, the update will require a fairly large amount of storage, so be sure to free up enough space before it arrives! For players on the Nintendo Switch, purchasing an SD Card can be a good way to avoid consuming too much space, considering that the Switch itself only has 32GB of storage.
