Best Armor Augments and Armor Recommendations

Evade for Status Buildup on Every Hit

Status weapons normally work by having a chance to apply the ailment around 1/3 of the time. This is why fast weapons that hit several times are usually preferred to inflict status on monsters. Status Trigger removes this RNG element and makes all hits deal Status damage. This makes it significantly easier to build up your desired status on monsters. The skill works with Poison, Sleep, and Paralysis, making it ideal to pair with Foray, which is on both armor pieces with Status Trigger.

The evasion condition is similar to Bladescale Hone and Adrenaline Rush, where only regular evasion moves will work. Dodge rolls, sidesteps, backhops, and Swap Evades all activate the skill when you properly dodge an attack. Thankfully, this is made easier with skills like Evade Window, which already comes with the Golden Lunecoil.

Nearly Useless on Ranged Weapons

Without Status Trigger With Status Trigger

None of the ranged weapons can deal Status damage with their regular attacks (with the exception of Blast Bows), instead relying on Coatings and Status Ammo to inflict them. These always applied a fixed buildup in the first place, making Status Trigger do nothing for them. To demonstrate this, the comparison above shows that it takes 6 shots of Paralysis Ammo 1 to cause paralysis both with and without Status Trigger.

Stacks with Bladescale Hone and Adrenaline Rush

If you're wondering if all the evasion-activated skills stack, they do! Keep your play style in mind as well since these skills heavily rely on evading attacks to work.
