Master Rank is a new feature in the Monster Hunter Rise (MH Rise): Sunbreak DLC. Keep reading to find out what you need to do in the game to access the Master Rank and start playing Sunbreak!
In order to unlock Master Rank, you must have both the Monster Hunter Rise base game and the Sunbreak DLC, which is available as of June 30, 2022 for all regions and platforms.
Sunbreak Release Date and Release Time
To have access to the Sunbreak DLC, you must first finish the Lv★7 Serpent Goddess of Thunder Hub Quest. Defeating Narwa will unlock the Sunbreak storyline.
Thunder Serpent Narwa Guide
Upon loading up the game after downloading the Sunbreak DLC and having defeated Thunder Serpent Narwa, you'll find Rondine standing at the bridge at the entrance of Kamura Village. After talking to her, an Urgent Quest will be automatically unlocked. Talk to Minato at the Hub and take on the quest to fight Daimyo Hermitaur.
Upon completing the Urgent Quest, talk to Fiorayne to unlock Master Rank and sail to Elgado.

In Master Rank quests, you can fight new monsters that weren't available before Sunbreak like Malzeno, as well as monsters that were featured in older Monster Hunter games like Espinas.

Master Rank quests are more challenging than High Rank quests, so you better come prepared. We will add more information on the new Sunbreak DLC will be released.
Follower Collab Quests
With challenging new quests and monsters coming up, you'll be able to craft new armor to properly gear yourself for Master Rank.
