Characteristics
Wroggi are bird wyverns that travel in packs that are led by the largest and most toxic member. Be careful when one raises its head and its poison sac expands—that signals that it's about to spit a cloud of poisonous mist.

Great Wroggi Attack Patterns

Name Description
Poison Breath Great Wroggi lobs a cluster of poison breath which lingers for a short time
Agile Hunter the Great Wroggi boasts its skill in mobility with large leaps.
Side Slam A full body slam meant to know hunters off their feet.

Poison Breath

Monster Hunter Rise (Great Wroggi) - Poison Breath.png

The Great Wroggi can use a poison breath attack to poison the hunter. The attack hits a wide area and stays for a while so it's best to steer clear and make a tactical retreat when the Great Wroggi uses it.

Agile Hunter

Monster Hunter Rise (Great Wroggi) - High Mobility.gif

The Greater version of bird wyverns are extra mobile and can jump great distances. They can also backstep to avoid hunter attacks and they can unleash a 180-degree tail attack to fend of hunters.

Side Slam

Monster Hunter Rise (Great Wroggi) - Side Charge.gif

Like the Great Baggi, the Great Wroggi will turn to its side and charge sideways towards its foes, much like a shoulder tackle.

Beat up Regular Wroggi

Monster Hunter Rise (Great Wroggi) - Beat up Regular Wroggi.gif

Regular Wroggi are going to be a nuisance when you are fighting Great Wroggi as they can also scratch and bite at you. Oftentimes their attacks make you flinch which makes it hard to dodge Great Wroggi's poison attacks.

Bring Antidotes and Herbal Medicines

Monster Hunter Rise (Great Wroggi) - Use Antidotes.gif

You'll find yourself getting poisoned by either the Great Wroggi or its accompanying Wroggi, so always have Antidotes and Herbal Medicines on you to fight off the poison.

Avoid Poison

Monster Hunter Rise (Great Wroggi) - Avoid Poison.gif

The Great Wroggi will spit poison often, and while you should have antidotes on you, the best cure is prevention, so dodge its poison spit mists!

Use Ice and Water Weapons

Monster Hunter Rise (Great Wroggi) - Use Ice and Water Weapons.png

Great Wroggis are weak to water and ice weapons, so if you have these elemental weapons, use them.

Go For The Head

Monster Hunter Rise (Great Wroggi) - Aim for the Head.png

Attacking the Great Wroggi's head deals extra damage. Go for it as much as possible.

Use Tainted Meat on Great Wroggi

Being the carnivorus creature it is, Great Wroggi can still be baited to eat Tainted Meat such as Tinged Meat, Poisoned Meat, and Drugged Meat.

Each upgrade level adds 2 points to defense. Depending on rarity the armor will have different levels to max up to. Take the total levels minus one and multiply by 2 to get the total defense plus what the armor started with.
