CAPCOM is a part of the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2021, which premiered on September 30, 2021 at 10PM (JST/UTC+9).
CAPCOM has just announced the Sunbreak expansion for Monster Hunter Rise! It will be launched in Summer 2022 and will come with new monsters, new maps, and a new quest rank.
As of writing, there is no confirmation on the existence of an Update 4.0 for Monster Hunter Rise (MH Rise). The farthest confirmation regarding official updates we all got is up to Update 3.4 releasing September 30th, 2021, as well as the final CAPCOM Collab 5 on October 29th, 2021.
Get ready for the spooks as your hunter can now become Arthur from Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection! For the fifth and final collab with Capcom, you can craft the Arthur Hunter Layered Armor after completing an event quest that will drop on October 29th, 2021.
While wearing the Arthur Hunter Layered Armor, your throwing kunai turns into lances. In addition to that, you hop up while throwing them, copying the original attack animation from Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection.
A special cutscene is also played after a successful quest. It appears spooky music also accompanies the hunter while hunting when wearing the Arthur Layered Armor.
In celebration of Sonic turning 30, MH Rise will have an official collab which will be available in November. Stay tuned for more information!
The New Sticker Set 6 as well as Hunter Cosmetics will be dropping! These will be available as paid content which you can purchase on the Nintendo eShop starting October 28th, 2021.
Megaman 11's Rush can now be your personal best boy with the newest CAPCOM collaboration! At the tail end of Update 3.3.1, this Event Quest available from September 24 will get you the Rush layered armor set.
Street Fighter's Akuma is CAPCOM's newest addition to its roster of collaborations. As part of the free title update 3.3.1, finishing the Event Quest on August 27 reward hunters with the Akuma layered armor set.
New event quests will be released every week for Update 3.3 starting September 2021. Along with it, we may be able to get additional free downloadable content such as stickers, titles, and gestures! They also released Challenge Quest 03.
New stickers (Special Sticker Set 5) will again be available as paid content from the Nintendo eShop this August 26!
A new CAPCOM collaboration is announced together with Update 3.2! The Okami Collaboration will give hunters the Ammy Costume as an Event Quest reward on July 30!
It is confirmed that hunters will be getting weekly event quests and rewards! They also released Challenge Quest 02.
New stickers (Special Sticker Set 4) will also be available as a paid downloadable content from the Nintendo eShop!
The first CAPCOM collaboration is with Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. Finish the quest, Bird Wyverns of Ruin? and get the materials to craft the Tsukino Costume Palico Layered Armor!
Five new downloadable event quests were announced to be released with Update 3.1, complete with unique rewards.
There will be another wave of paid DLC coming our way with Update 3.1, including Kagero and Rondine voices for your hunter! Full details about these DLC haven't been released yet, but we will update as soon as prices are released.
A continuation of the story of Wind Serpent Ibushi and Thunder Serpent Narwa will be featured in Update 3.0. It's highly likely that hunters will have to fight them both at once!
Update 3.0: Release Date and New Monsters
New monsters were announced for Update 3.0, namely Crimson Glow Valstrax and Apex Zinogre. Crimson Glow Valstrax is a variant of Valstrax, the flagship monster of MHGU. Meanwhile, Apex Zinogre bears a strong resemblance with Thunderlord Zinogre, who also appeared in MHGU.
With this update, they also released the very first Challenge Quest with this update, featuring Tetranadon.
The Elder Dragons Chameleos, Teostra, and Kushala Daora along with new Apex monsters—Apex Rathalos and Apex Diablos—were added in the first free title update. Bazelgeuse, who was not announced beforehand, also appeared in Update 2.0.
Each Apex monster—Apex Arzuros, Apex Mizutsune, Apex Rathian—which we were only able to battle in Rampage quests before, now have their own hunts! There are also brand new downloadable event quests, released every week. These give unique rewards, like stickers, layered armor, and gestures!
Quest Types and List of Quests
The Hunter Rank cap is unlocked, making it possible for players to reach HR999 once they finish all the new elder dragon quests. It was locked at HR7 before the update.
How to Unlock HR Caps and Farm HR
Fashion Hunter is well and alive with the introduction of layered armor! No more looking ugly to be at your most powerful, or being weak just to look fashionable.
We mentioned all the big features released with Update 2.0, but there's definitely more to it that you may be interested in! There are new decorations, skills, armor sets, weapons, petalaces, and many more that you can sink your teeth into.

Give us the ability to change our layered armor display. What I mean is, ya know how armor looks different on the male and female models? well, I wish there was the ability to change the appearance from the male models of armor, to the female models, and the reverse without changing the gender of your character itself. This would be really nice, as imo some armor pieces look better as the male model version.
