Characteristics
Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax are elder dragons that have found a way to overcome their affliction. By suppressing the Qurio virus, they have gained great strength and new abilities. Their abundance of dragon energy has granted them greater agility, and even more devastating explosive powers. Very few will be able to withstand their ferocious attacks. When their anger reaches its peak, they'll enter into their Risen state and their body will begin to glow.

Reach MR 160

Hunters will be able to slay a Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax via the Quest Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax. The quest will unlock as soon as the Hunter reaches MR160.

Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax Hunting Tips

After inflicting a sufficient amount of damage to a Risen elder dragon, they'll enter into a Risen state. In this state, their attacks are much more powerful. With Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax, they'll amass all their strength in one wing before doing a spin attack, and skewering their prey. Stay on the offensive to prevent them from entering this state or to knock them out of it.

How to Beat Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax

Beware of Its Risen State

In addition to its usual enraged state, Crimson Glow Valstrax will enter an even deadlier Risen State. During this time, Valstrax can deal enough damage to one-shot unaware Hunters so be extra-extra careful.

Deal Enough Damage to Remove Risen State

Like all Risen Elder Dragons, dealing enough damage to Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax will knock off the Risen state causing it to topple down! This gives Hunters a big window to attack!

Attack The Chest While Charging

The image above is for the normal CG Valstrax, but the technique still holds up for this Risen version.

Like the normal Crimson Glow Valstrax, this Risen Valstrax will also charge up dragon energy periodically during the fight. Whenever you see this, do not miss the chance to attack its chest!

Dealing enough damage to this part while charging will cause the chest to implode, dealing around 2000 damage to Valstrax!

Increase Your Defenses

Risen Valstrax can one shot Hunters, especially when in the Risen state. To increase your chances of surviving, make sure that your armor's defenses is upgraded at max level!

You may also slot in skills like Defense Boost and Defiance to increase your defenses even more!

Eat for Moxie

Since Valstrax can one-shot unsuspecting Hunters, we suggest getting Dango Moxie so you can survive a supposedly cartable attack. Take note that this only activates in the village, so eating in camp won't work!

Knowing how hard Risen Valstrax hit, we suggest collecting Spiribirds to increase your maximum health gauge! The route above will let you collect enough to max the health gauge in around 1m20s!

Bring Followers in Solo Runs

If you plan on running Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax solo, we suggest taking Followers in hunts! We recommend using Fugen and Hinoa since Hinoa's HH can provide buffs and can even KO Risen Valstrax together with Fugen's Hammer.

Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax share the same moves as the normal Master Rank Crimson Glow Valstrax. Once it activates its Risen state though, CG Valstrax unlocks a plethora of deadly moves, some even enough to one-shot any unsuspecting Hunter.

Crimson Beam Redirection: Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax fires two deadly Crimson Beams. There will be several explosions following the beams so be ready. Avoiding this attack requires you to evade sideways. Risen Valstrax will attempt to home in on the player though, so always keep the follow-up attack in mind.

Risen Twister: Risen Valstrax charges up, then spins around like a blender, with its wings acting as blades. Risen Valstrax will charge up before executing this move! Sheathe your weapons and be ready to perform an Emergency Evade as it is charging!

Jet Uppercut: Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax thrusts its right wing downward towards the player before striking a second time with a rocket powered uppercut. It always start with a front leg stomp so telegraph the move properly!

Stellar Shower Ambush: Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax improved on its already deadly Ambush attack. Risen Valstrax flies up to the air, and showers the Hunters with draconic orbs that will explode in a wide area. Afterwards, Risen Valstrax will dive down with full force. This move can systematically cart groups of Hunters if not evaded correctly. The most reliable way to survive this move is to execute Emergency Evade TWICE - one for the orb mines, and one for the divebomb. You may also use Farcasters to save yourself!
