How to Find All Relic Records (Notebook)

This is a guide to finding all the Relic Records and Old Messages in Monster Hunter Rise (MH Rise). Here you'll find guides on the locations of each Notebook entry, and rewards for finding them all and completing the Hunter Notes!

1: At the Top of a Mountain in Area 5

Location	Map

The first Relic Record in the Shrine Ruins can be found at the top of a mountain in Area 5. You can climb most of the mountain with relative ease, but around the halfway point if you don't use wirebugs you won't be able to keep going, so if you're struggling at all you can head towards the area 4 to get an extra wirebug charge.

If you have the Sunbreak DLC, you can get here quickly with Buddy Recon Point 1.

How to Get and Use Wirebugs

2: Below a Cliff in Between Areas 6 and 8

Location	Map

The second Relic Record can be found in between Areas 6 and 8, below a cliff. Climb up the cliffside from the river at Area 6 until you find a vine wall. Just past there in the shadow of the above cliff is the Relic Record.

3: At the Top of a Mountain at Area 12

The third Relic Record is at the top of a mountain south of Area 12 in front of a shrine. It's pretty easy to spot and can be reached with no problems by using wirebugs to climb up.

4: Under the Archway Above the Wyvern Nest

The fourth Relic Record can be found in Area 11 below an archway found above the Wyvern Nest in the area. Be sure to pick up an extra wirebug before making your way up to this one.

5: Cross the Bridge Above Area 13

The fifth Relic Record can be found in Area 13. If you look up you'll see a bridge that can be crossed, but you'll need to go up the cliffs in area 12 to make your way over to it. Cross the bridge to get the Relic Record.

If you have the Sunbreak expansion, Buddy Recon Point 2 will take you near the bridge already.

6: Next to an Archway Between Areas 7 and 8

The sixth Relic Record can be found up a cliff to the left of an Archway in between Areas 7 and 8. It isn't visible immediately but you can easily get up to its location with a single wirebug charge.

7: On the Tree Above Area 2

The seventh Relic Record can be found above Area 2 on a tree branch. Start at Area 1 to get up the cliffside then cross the branch to find this one.

8: Inside a Cavern in Area 6

The eighth Relic Record can be found in a cave accessible from a mountain in Area 5. You'll need to make use of wirebugs and wall running to reach the cave.

Walk up the mountain in Area 5 until you reach some lanterns then drop down to some Jewel Lillies. Aim your wirebug at the wall to your left and run over to the cave entrance to find this Relic Record.

9: In a Patch of Sending Sprigs Behind a Fence in Area 7

The ninth Relic Record can be found behind a fence where there's a patch of Sending Sprigs. This area can be reached on foot from the nearby gate so there's no need for wirebugs.

10: On the Cliff Above the Waterfall Between Areas 2 and 6

The final Relic Record for the Shrine Ruins is found on a cliff above the waterfall that separates Areas 2 and 6. You can use wirebugs from the top of the waterfall to reach this Relic Record if you want, but for those who have trouble, there is an alternate route from Area 1. Climb the mountain in Area 1 and follow the path seen on the map until you come upon a patch of Mushrooms. Drop down from here to claim your prize.

1: On Top of the Structure in Area 7

Location	Structure

The first Relic Record is found on top of the structure found in Area 7. You can easily get up to it by using a wirebug.

2: Climb the Tree in Area 1

The second Relic Record can be found by climbing the curved tree found in Area 1. There are actually a few trees in this area so be sure to go for the snow-covered curved tree.

3: Through a Tunnel in Area 4

The third Relic Record can be found through a tunnel in a cliff south of Area 4. From below the cliff, you can enter the tunnel with ease using a wirebug.

4: Enter the Cave in Area 4

The fourth Relic Record can be found in a cave near the water in Area 4. If you try to go there from the camp, be warned that it isn't easy to see the area at first glance.

5: Break the Snowman at the Melynx House

The fifth Relic Record can be found at the Melynx house in Area 5. Next to the house is a Snowman that can be broken open using Barrel Bombs or a Gunlance's Wyrmstake Cannon, so be sure to bring one of these.

6: Climb the Mast of the Ship in Area 8

The sixth Relic Record can be found at the top of the mast of the wrecked ship in Area 8. You can reach the top from the nearby cliff so get your wirebugs ready and start climbing.

This can be sped up by riding your Palamute.

7: Enter the Cave in Area 11

The seventh Relic Record can be found in a small cave in Area 11. You won't be able to enter while on your Palamute so make sure to dismount and crouch down to crawl through the opening.

8: Enter the Cave at the Edge of Area 5

The eighth Relic Record can be found in a cave on the edge of Area 5. While the cave is at the top of a cliff, it can't be climbed using wirebugs. Instead, you'll have to go around from the opposite cliff and Wiredash across the gap to reach this Relic Record.

9: Climb the Mountain North of Area 9

Frost Islands Relic Record 9 can be found at the top of a mountain in the northern part of Area 9. To start, you'll see two mountains in this area. Climb up the rightmost mountain then Wiredash across to the left where you'll see a Snow Herb. From there climb up the wall and go to your left to a ledge where you'll find the Relic Record.

For those who are used to using Wirebugs this shouldn't be too difficult, but for anyone who might struggle you can pick up a third Wirebug in the area ahead of time. With the Sunbreak DLC, this relic should be right above the 2nd Buddy Recon Point.

How to Use Wirebugs

10: Wiredash Out of a Great Wirebug Between Areas 9 and 12

The final Relic Record in Frost Islands can be reached through the use of a Great Wirebug between Areas 9 and 12. Midflight, keep an eye out for an Archway on a cliffside, then Wiredash out of the Great Wirebug to reach the Relic Record.

Be warned, you need to time this right or you'll miss your target.

1: Below a Cliff in Area 2

The first Relic Record can be found towards the west edge of the map in Area 2. Climb up the cliffside and drop down to find this one.

2: Near the Fishing Spot North of the Main Camp

The second Relic Record can be found near a fishing spot in between Areas 1 and 2. To the right of the fishing spot is a small hole you can enter to get to this Relic Record.

3: At the Top of a Small Mountain in Area 1

The third Relic Record can be found on top of a small mountain in Area 1. It can be a little difficult to see from below so head towards the pointed spot.

4: In a Patch of Sending Sprigs in Area 11

The fourth Relic Record can be found in a patch of Sending Sprigs in the open space of Area 11. You can use the felled tree in the area as a landmark.

5: Across a Bridge Between Areas 9 and 10

The fifth Relic Record can be found in between Areas 9 and 10 on the left side of a bridge.

6: In the Lower Section of Area 5

Location	Directions

Sandy Plains Relic Record 6 can be found in the lower portion of Area 5. It's close to the ceiling so after dropping down, hop up to the ledge with a tree growing out of it then jump to the other side to reach the Relic Record.

7: Above Sub Camp 1

Location	Directions

The seventh Relic Record can be found on the second floor of the ruins above Sub Camp 1. Being on the second floor, you'll need to make use of your wirebugs to get to the top.

8: In a Crevice in the East Side of Area 4

The eighth Relic Record can be found in a hollowed-out portion of a cliffside in the eastern part of Area 4. You can't climb up directly to its location so you'll need to go up and around from the other side.

9: In a Cave in the Lower Section of Area 9

The ninth Relic Record can be found in the lower portion of Area 9 inside a cave. Once you've made your way down, look out for the door-shaped opening and head inside for this Relic Record.

10: Behind a Broken Wall in Area 12

The final Relic Record in Sandy Plains can be found in Area 12, just behind a broken wall. With the Sunbreak DLC, you can head straight to this location with the 1st Buddy Recon Point.

1: Climb the Wall Next to the Main Camp

Location	Directions

The first Relic Record can be found just up the wall near the Main Camp. As soon as you load into the area, turn to your left and climb the wall with your wirebugs to reach the location.

2: On a Tree Above the Path Between Areas 4 and 9

Location	Directions

The second Relic Record can be found along the path between Areas 4 and 9, in a tree above you. As you won't be able to climb up from below, you'll need to head to the hill in Area 8 and make your way over to the tree from there.

3: In a Room on the Pyramid

Flooded Forest Relic Record 3 can be found inside the Pyramid to the southeast end of the map. Climb up the Pyramid and head to its south side where you'll come upon two different openings. You want to take the upper opening to find the Relic Record.

Make sure to make use of your Wirebugs when heading down the Pyramid.

4: Hidden in a Patch of Sending Sprigs Between Areas 10 and 11

The fourth Relic Record can be found in a patch of Sending Sprigs between areas 10 and 11. This is the only patch of Sending Sprigs in the area so you'll have no trouble finding it.

5: In a Hole on a Wall in the West Side of Area 14

The fifth Relic Record can be found on the western side of Area 14 inside a hole on a wall. It can be a bit hard to notice so walk along the wall until you spot it.

6: Jump Into a Hole to the East of Area 12

The sixth Relic Record can be found in a cave accessed from a cliffside in Area 12. Once you reach the opening just wiredash your way inside.

7: On a Cliff Above the Sub-Camp

The seventh Relic Record can be found above the Sub Camp on the cliff. Due to the height, you won't be able to climb up directly. Instead, go to the cliff on the opposite side wiredash from there.

The Relic Record is down one level from the top of the mountain so look down before dropping.

8: In a Room at the Top of the Pyramid

The eighth Relic Record can be found close to where you found the second. From the top of the Pyramid drop down to the left side where you'll see a wall that can be broken. Similar to the snowman in Frost Islands, you'll need to use a Barrel Bomb or a Gunlance's Wyrmstake Cannon to take the wall down. With that done, go inside to get the Relic Record.

The Pyramid can be scaled using wirebugs.

9: Between Area 13 and the Main Camp

The ninth Relic Record can be found along with the shortcut from the Main Camp to Area 13. You'll need to climb up from the Main Camp so head to the south cliffside where there are some Jewel Lillies to deploy a Great Wirebug.

10: On a Cliff Near the Waterfall in Area 7

Location	Directions

Flooded Forest Relic Record 10 can be found on top of a cliff to the far north of the map. To get there, you'll need to head to the waterfall in Area 12 and cross over the platforms sticking out of it. Getting to the first platform may require an extra Wirebug if you can't quite make it across so pick one up in advance if you're worried.

1: Climb Up the Archway near the Main Camp

The first Relic Record can be found near the Main Camp above the archway.

2:In the Tree in Area 4

Location	Directions

The second Relic Record can be found in a tree in Area 4. The tree is pretty noticeable so you shouldn't have any trouble finding it.

3: Drop Down From a Cliff in Area 7

The third Relic Record can be found just below a cliff in Area 7. You'll find said cliff to your left when heading to Area 7 from Area 9. Look down from there to find the Relic Record.

4: Above the Tallest Stone Pillar in Area 13

Location	Directions

The fourth Relic Record can be found in the lower portion of Area 13 on top of a stone pillar. You'll have to climb the pillar itself rather than Wiredash up due to its height, so time your wirebug uses it well.

5: In the Large Hole at Area 14

Lava Caverns Relic Record 5 can be found within the large hole at Area 14. As 2 Wirebugs won't cut it, pick up the extra Wirebug nearby for 3 charges.

6: On Top of a Stone Pillar in Area 8

The sixth Relic Record can be found on top of a stone pillar in Area 8. Jump up to the lower pillar to reach the next more easily.

7: Enter the Lower Level From Area 12

Lava Caverns Relic Record 7 can be found to your left soon after entering the lower level of Area 12. Look for the ivy and climb the wall next to it to get up to the area with the Relic Record.

8: At the Northwest Edge of Area 6

The eighth Relic Record can be found at the far edge of Area 6 to the northwest. Go down the hill and turn to your left to find this one.

9: Behind the Broken Bridge Between Areas 3 and 9

Location	Directions

The ninth Relic Record can be found beneath the broken bridge in between Areas 3 and 9. Cross over to the other side and you'll see a ledge that you can drop to that has the Relic Record.

10: Go to the Lower Level From Area 1

Location	Direction

The final Relic Record in Lava Caverns can be found right after entering the lower level from Area 1. As you head down, hug the left side wall and keep an eye out in the dark for this Relic Record.

1: In a Building Above Shrine Ruins Area 4

Location	Directions

The first Rampage Relic is found in Shrine Ruins Area 4, in a building at the top of a cliff.

2: Above a Tree in Shrine Ruins Area 3

Location	Directions

The second Rampage Message can be found in Shrine Ruins Area 3 in a tree near a Felyne house. The Felyne house can be found right after climbing up some ivy vines so the tree should immediately come into sight.

3: Behind a Tree in Between Frost Islands Areas 6 and 9

Location	Directions

The third Rampage Relic Record can be found in between Frost Islands Areas 6 and 9 on the west side of a cliff. Wiredash across the gap and you'll find this Rampage Message on the other side of a tree.

4: At the Top of a Mountain in Frost Islands Area 6

The fourth Rampage Message can be found at the top of the highest mountain in Frost Islands Area 6. On your way up you'll run into some Jewel Lillies so take advantage of the Great Wirebug to get to this one.

5: Just Below the Great Wirebug in Flooded Forest Area 2

The fifth Rampage Relic can be found in Flooded Forest Area 2, just below the Great Wirebug location in the ruins. If you have the Sunbreak DLC, you can quickly reach this area with the 1st Buddy Recon Point.

6: In the Southeast Part Flooded Forest Area 7

Location	Directions

The sixth Rampage Message can be found through an opening in a cliff in Flooded Forest Area 7. Once you arrive at the cliff simply Wiredash up into the opening.

7: At the Western Edge of Sandy Plains Area 7

The seventh Rampage Relic Record can be found to the far West in the lower level of Sandy Plains Area 7. From the upper-level head down and turn around to see a small opening where the Rampage Message is.

8: Behind a Tree Above the Sandy Plains Main Camp

The eighth Rampage Message can be found above Sandy Plains Main Camp behind a tree.

9: Above a Cliff South of Lava Caverns Area 3

The ninth Rampage Relic can be found south of Lava Caverns Area 3 above a cliff. Head south along the cliff until you see a ledge you can jump to on your right side where the Rampage Message is.

10: Through a Tunnel in the North Side of Lava Caverns Area 11

The final Rampage Message can be found through a tunnel to the north of Lava Caverns Area 11. Once you go through the first opening, look to your right for another tunnel you can wiredash to. Follow this tunnel and you will find the last Rampage Message.

What are Relic Records?

Collectables Found in Each Area

Relic Records are collectibles scattered around each field area. There are 10 on each map, hidden out of sight in sometimes difficult to reach areas. You will also receive 1000 points for each one you find.

Can Be Viewed in the Notebook Later

The Relic Records and Old Messages you pick up can be accessed from the Notebook in Hunter's Note menu. These collectibles give an insight into the story and lore of the world of Monster Hunter Rise, so if you have any interest be sure to collect them all!

Show Your Notebook to Kagero For Rewards

Once you've found all 10 Relic Records for one area, you can show them to Kagero back in Kamura Village to receive wooden carvings of monsters found in the area. You will receive 2 carvings for each area.

Decorations For Your Room

The wooden carvings can then be put up on a shelf back in Your Room for you to view at your leisure.
