Special Investigations will let you fight extremely powerful Afflicted Monsters! This will unlock upon reaching Afflicted Research Level 300. Read on to know more about how to unlock Special Investigations, and the rewards for finishing them!

To unlock special investigations, Hunters will need to reach Anomaly Research Level 300 and clear a Lv. 300 Anomaly Investigation. Upon beating the investigation, you'll be notified that a special investigation is now available. Only the hunter who posted the investigation will be rewarded the special investigation (only once).
Beware, the monsters in Special Investigations are super aggressive and boasts moves with wider reach!
Special Investigations have a join condition of Anomaly Research Level 221. As long as someone is hosting the quest for you, you won't need to grind all the way to Level 300 to participate! It's still best to be prepared as these are still the most challenging quests in the game.
They may be no special rewards, but completing many Special Investigation quests of different monsters will reward Hunters with a new Badge of Heroes! Wear it loud and proud - you've earned it!

After unlocking and defeating monsters in Special Investigations, a Special Investigation badge will appear in your Hunting Log. This is a quick way to track your progress in unlocking the badges above.
This section is found in your Guild Card.
Completing Special Investigations will not give Hunters special rewards. The zenny and material rewards are also not that special.
Special Investigations are solely for Hunters who want to test their mettle against extremely powerful monsters.
