On the get go, you will be able to farm for Twisted Stiffbone as soon as you get access to the Master Rank map of Shrine Ruins.
You can obtain this item from Bonepiles around the map. You can also use your Palamute when you go on expeditions to farm certain items as you can use their Sniff 'em Out! ability to help you look for farming nodes!
Bone Pile 2 is found atop the hill west of Area 7. You'll need to climb up twice to reach the top from the path heading up to Area 7.
Use the Great Wirebug found next to Bonepile 2.
Upon landing, look for a wooden arch. Use your Wirebugs to cross the gap and head through the arch to reach Area 5 where Bonepile 3 is located.
