Back to the Grind is a side quest in Starfield where you will submit a job application to Ryujin Industries. See how to answer the kiosk interview, how to deal with Tomo, quest rewards, and how to complete it in this guide!

Look for a Ryujin Industries Kiosk and interact with it so you can send an application. You can find these kiosks within cities or inside the Ryujin Tower.
Answer all the questions in the application to proceed.
The quest will first task you to find a Ryujin Industries Kiosk and send an application through an automated interview. Your answers here won't have an effect on the outcome of the quest.
You can still get in even if you picked the "worst" answers like having zero knowledge about Ryujin Industries or having a criminal record.
If you sent your job application from another system or planet, you'll need to jump to Volii Alpha, where the Ryujin Tower is, for the next step.
Make for Ryujin Tower and take the elevator up to the Operations floor. For the optional objective, you can speak with Lane Garza and ask about the interview or the interviewer herself, Imogene.
Talk to Imogene in her office to proceed with the interview.
Imogene will start asking you questions as soon as you take your seat. Again, your answers here won't affect anything in the quest aside from Imogene's replies. She will remember what you answered in the kiosk interview, though!
For your first assignment, you need to get a cup of coffee from TerraBrew. Sounds easy, right?
Take the elevator down to the Lobby and walk to the other end of the district. Talk to the employee and tell them you're picking up a coffee for Imogene.
Huh? Who's Tomo?
Oh, he's the one you replaced, apparently. Tomo will interrupt your coffee order and threaten you in fear of being disposed of by Ularu Chen. This can go two ways, but won't affect the succeeding events as well.
You will be given the choice to either calm Tomo down or drop him on the spot. The coffee that you came here for will still be there regardless of where this encounter leads and won't affect your job application, so you can take your chances on persuading Tomo or use the quicker way out.
Return to Imogene with the not-so-hot-anymore coffee you picked up. You can also tell her that you ran into Tomo, which delayed the task a bit. She will then promote you to a "confidential" position and give you another assignment.
Back to the grind of delivering more coffee!
Head to the meeting room where the new objective markers are and talk to each of the four execs inside to proceed with the quest.
Return to Imogene and tell her how it went to receive your rewards and complete the first step of the Ryujin Industries faction questline!
