Space Piracy includes crimes such as stealing cargo from other space travelers and taking over their ships in Starfield. Read on to learn more about Piracy Demands, and what faction is composed of pirates!

What are Piracy Demands?
Steal Cargo From Other Ships
Piracy Demands occur when you demand space travelers to hand over their cargo to you. These usually contain Credits, items, and gear that you can get for free upon successfully stealing their cargo.
Take note that this act is considered a crime and will usually result in space combat with the ship that you're trying to steal from.
Smuggling Contraband
Another form of piracy is smuggling contraband into planets and cities by distributing contraband through your Outpost network, starting a trading business, bribing NPCs, or by hiding these illegal items through the purchase of special ship parts!
How to Do Piracy Demands
Engage in Space Battles
When interacting with a fellow pilot in space, you can choose the dialogue option to demand their cargo be given to you. This will result in combat and you'll have to destroy the ship in a heated space battle in order to steal the cargo.
Hijack Ships
If you want a more hands-on approach, you can dock in their ships and personally retrieve their precious cargo yourself.
With this, you'll also be able to take over their ship as you'll have to eliminate all of the crew members inside, leaving no one to commandeer the vessel.

Crimson Fleet Faction
The Crimson Fleet are a group of evil space pirates who steal, kill, and commit other atrocious acts of violence — basically anything that doesn't conform with the rules laid out by governing factions like the United Colonies and the Freestar Collective.
It is unknown at the moment if they offer side jobs to steal cargo and various goods from other unfortunate space travelers, but we can speculate that joining them may give you an opportunity to go on missions to steal ships along with other valuable items onboard.
