Lookup Failed Fix and Error Explained

Add to Watchlist

Lookup Failed is a common error that occurs in Starfield and Bethesda games as it's related to mod integration. Learn the official Lookup Failed fixes from Bethesda below.

Lookup Failed Possible Fixes

Official Fixes from Bethesda:

Bethesda Support has posted official fixes for the Lookup Failed error for both Fallout 4 and Fallout 76; both of which recommend uninstalling mods and then verifying the integrity of your game files.

You could try either of the below methods on Starfield's lookup failed after update error.

Fallout 4 Fix Fallout 76 Fix
1. Open Fallout 4 and select Mods from the main menu.
2. Find the mod you wish to uninstall in your Library.
3. Select the mod you wish to uninstall and select Delete. If desired, you can simply disable the mod from this menu, too.
4. Verify the Integrity of Your Game Files
1. Restore the files to their original state by uninstalling mods
2. Load Steam.
3. From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
4. Select the Local files tab and click Verify integrity of game files...
5. Steam will verify the game's files. This process may take several minutes.
6. Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.
