Should You Kill Vaeric

This is a guide to the results of killing or sparing Vaeric in Starfield Shattered Space. Learn if the choice matters and if you should kill or spare Vaeric here!

Killing or Sparing Vaeric Outcomes

Choice Outcome
Spare Vaeric ・Vaeric will reluctantly give you his House Veth'aal Signet Ring as proof of death for Viktor.
・You can ask Vaeric to also give you 10,000 Credits in addition to the ring.
・Vaeric will stay on the abandoned farm.
・You will lie to Viktor about killing Vaeric.
Kill Vaeric ・You will get the House Veth'aal Signet Ring from his corpse
・You will get around 1000-2000 Credits (depending on your level) from his corpse.
・You will get a Refined Eon Pistol from his corpse.
・You will not have to lie to Viktor about killing Vaeric, but the dialogue options are the same.
Kill Vaeric and Tane ・ Same outcome as only killing Vaeric, but this time, you will not be able to get Tane as a companion.
Persuade Vaeric ・Vaeric will agree to go back to the Keep and talk to Viktor.
・Viktor will forgive Vaeric and accept him back into House Veth'aal.

The choice to Kill or Spare Vaeric occurs at the end of the Conflict in Conviction quest. Your choices here do not affect the story of the Shattered Space DLC. It only gives you different dialogues for the quest and an additional recruitable crew member, depending on which choices you make.

Should You Kill Vaeric?

Depends on Your Character; Just Don't Kill Tane

Starfield Vaeric Choices

The only choice that changes any outcomes other than the dialogues is if you choose to kill both Vaeric and Tane, as you will not be able to get Tane as a companion anymore. If you want more Credits, you can spare Vaeric and ask him to pay you off with 10,000 Credits.

Other than that, you can choose whichever option aligns the best with the kind of character you are trying to build up.
