The 900T He3 Tank is the best fuel tank we've encountered in the game so far. It provides the most grav jump fuel at 650. Paired up with a good grav drive, this will allow you to travel to far systems without making any stops.
The fuel tank can be purchased from ship technicians in most cities after reaching level 27.

The 500T He3 Tank is the best reactor to get early in the game. It provides the most grav jump fuel at 210 without requiring any skills, so you will be able to purchase it even if you're not investing skill points in Starship Design.

Stores Resource for Space Travel and Grav Jumps
Fuel Tanks store your ship's resources used for movement and grav jumps. Fuel tanks also limit the distance you can travel during grav jumps. However, they don't need to be refueled. Fuel tanks refill automatically after a grav jump.
How to Upgrade Fuel Tanks
Replace Modules with Better Versions
You can upgrade ship parts by replacing them at a spaceport. Interact with the local ship technician, and from there, you can purchase modules with higher stats. Equip them to your ship while replacing the old parts.
