You will be prompted to choose between killing or sparing Tomo during the Back to the Grind quest in Starfield. Learn about all the available choices, the consequences of each choice, and which choice is best!

Choice Consequences
[Persuade] Hold on. Let's talk about this.
(Spare Tomo) 		Tomo lives, and you get promoted in the company.
Note that Tomo will be the target in Managing Assets if you did not get Bayu's permission during Guilty Parties.
[Attack] You want to fight? Bring it on!
(Kill Tomo)		 Tomo is dead, and you still get promoted in the company.
A 'Rival Operative' will be a target in Managing Assets if you did not get Bayu's permission during Guilty Parties.

During Back to the Grind you'll be tasked to grab some coffee for your first job where you'll be confronted by Tomo. Regardless of your first choice of words during the conversation, Tomo will still pull a gun on you.

Should You Kill Tomo?

Spare Tomo for a Clean Image in Ryujin

Sparing Tomo is by far the better choice to make. Not only is this liked by your companion, but this also leads to praise given by your superiors in the company. On the contrary, killing Tomo isn't too bad, but his drops aren't worth it.
