Starfield - Rescue Barrett Skip
Skip the Back to Vectera quest by rescuing Barrett immediately on Bessel III in Starfield. Read on to learn how to skip all the way to the Rescue Barrett objective and get to Bessel III quickly.

Fast Travel to Bessel III to Skip

Starfield - Rescue Barrett Skip - Travel to Bessel III
You can skip the Back to Vectera quest immediately at the start by rescuing Barrett without following the quest objectives. To do that, fast travel to Bessel Star System and land on the planet Bessel III. The Bessel Star System is northwest of Narion Star System.

Once you're on Bessel III, head to the Crimson Fleet camp to the west as soon as you get out of the ship. Clear the enemies in the area or head inside the Crimson Fleet Outpost immediately. Follow the path inside until you see Barrett with Matsura and other Crimson Fleet units. You can either attack them to rescue Barrett or persuade them to hand him over peacefully.

What to Do After Rescue Barrett Skip

Recruit Lin and Heller

Starfield - Recruiting Heller

If you still want to recruit Lin and Heller, you will need to go back to Vectera first before returning to the Lodge. This is because you cannot recruit them if you finish the quest without meeting with them. They will still be where they are but you cannot talk to them anymore.

Return to The Lodge to Finish the Quest

Starfield - Rescue Barrett Skip - Return to The Lodge
Head back to The Lodge in Jemison to finish the quest. You can now recruit Barrett at this point in the main questline and try to do his quest for a chance to have a romantic relationship with him!

You can do other quests after that, like The Empty Nest and Into the Unknown, to progress on the main questline.
