Sympathy for the Living Rewards and Unlock Condition

How to Start and Rewards

Location Dazra City (Va'ruun Depository), Va'ruun'kai (Shattered Space DLC)
Prerequisite Becomes available after the ritual during The Promised, Broken quest.

Sympathy for the Living Walkthrough

Go to the Deep Gorge Refinery

1 Proceed to Deep Gorge Refinery
Starfield Sympathy for the Living Deep Gorge Map View
Go to the Deep Gorge Refinery to progress the quest.
2 Get the Refinery Access Key
Starfrield Sympathy for the Living Refinery Access Key
Follow the quest marker, which should lead you to a Zealot. Kill him and take the Refinery Access Key.
3 Restore the Research Site's Auxillary Power
Starfield Sympathy for the Living Auxillary Power Switch
Take the Elevator to the Underground Lab to access the Research Site.

Afterward, follow the quest marker until you reach Switch, as seen in the image above. Take the Emergency Power Cell, interact with the Power Receptacle, and interact with the Switch to restore the power.
4 Search Quasim's Cell and Follow the Blood
Starfield Sympathy for the Living Quasims Cell
Go to the lower level and use the Cell Block Terminal. Open the New Prisoners folder and head to Quasim's Cell. Afterward, follow the trail of blood to progress the quest.

Power Cell Locations

Starfield Sympathy for the Living Main Power

You have to find three Emergency Power Cells to finish the Restore the Research Site's Main Power sub-objective and progress the quest.

Power Cell #1

Starfield Sympathy for the Living Power Cell 1

One of the Power Cells is on a table at the mourge area. if you see bodies in black bags, then you should be close.

Power Cell #2

Starfield Sympathy for the Living Power Cell 2

Another one of the Power Cells is located in the the storage chute in the area. Look out for the Storage sign. Once you see it, head down the chute and you should see the Power Cell there.

Power Cell #3

Starfield Sympathy for the Living Power Cell 3

The last Power Cell is located inside the room labeled Research 04. This room is adjacent to the Storage Chute seen in the previous Power Cell Location. Head inside the Research 04 Room and head up the stairs. The Power Cell is inside a room by the stairs.

Kill the Redeemed

5 Pursue the Creature
Starfield Sympathy for the Living Pursue the Creature
After inserting all the Power Cells and interacting with the Switch, follow the quest marker and pursue the Creature.
6 Kill the Redeemed (Quasim)
Starfield Sympathy for the Living Kill the Redeemed
Kill Quasim, who has been transformed into a Redeemed. Afterward, get the Message to Nadala from his corpse to progress the quest.
7 Return to Nadala
Starfield Sympathy for the Living Return to Nadala
Go back to Nadala and break the news about Quasim to her to conclude the quest. You can either lie and tell her that you did not find Quasim or tell her the truth. Nothing will change either way; you will only get a different dialogue.

Nadala will give you a 30% discount on all her wares after the quest, regardless of whether you lie or tell the truth.
