Wellness |
As a Bouncer, you're already skilled in hand-to-hand combat with Boxing and have more endurance thanks to Fitness. You can improve your punches later in the game with Physical Skills like Martial Arts and Neurostrikes and increase your health with Wellness. If you encounter something your fists can't handle, you can opt to boost melee weapons with Dueling instead.
Your experience with locks also lets you start with the Security skill if you decide to try using digipicks. You can then learn Commerce to sell any goods you acquire at a higher price. If anyone is nearby and you don't feel like punching them, you can use Intimidation to make them flee.
Weapon | Type | Damage | Ammo Type |
---|---|---|---|
Magshot | Pistol | Phys | .43 MI |
UC Naval Cutlass | Melee Weapon | Phys | N/A |
Bouncers are skilled at using their fists for combat, so it's viable to fight unarmed. However, you can also use the UC Naval Cutlass for a melee weapon in situations where punching isn't enough; and if that still doesn't get the job done pull out your Magshot pistol to finish the job.
Best Weapons: Weapon Tier List
Since close combat is the preferred fighting style, it's best to equip armor that can reduce physical damage.
Alien DNA |
You volunteered for a controversial experiment that combines alien and human DNA. As a result, you start with increased health and oxygen, but healing and food items aren't as effective. |
---|---|
Extrovert |
You're a people person. Exerting yourself uses less oxygen when adventuring with human companions. but more when adventuring alone. (Can't be combined with Introvert.) |
Terra Firma |
You've never acclimated to space. Health and oxygen are increased when on the surface, but decreased when you're in space. (Can't be combined with Spaced.) |
Traits that can increase health and oxygen should work well with a melee playstyle. These include Alien DNA, Extrovert, and Terra Firma. To maximize these boosts, bring along a human companion when exploring the surface of planets.
Starting Skills | Description |
---|---|
Security |
While the standardized digital locking mechanism is renowned for its security, any code can be broken with the proper training. |
Fitness |
In space, the greatest commodity is oxygen, and the increased lung capacity gained by a regular physical fitness regimen is essential to survival. |
Boxing |
Once considered a "sport of kings," boxing is still practiced as a recreational competitive activity, but its combat applications can't be denied. |
Bouncer Flavor Text |
---|
You worked the line at the toughest clubs in the Settled Systems. Back then, you learned that most non-lethal confrontations can be solved in one of two ways: a strong right hook, or a more strongly secured door. |
