Phys: 1 Mass: 0.20 Value: 800 ID: 01000822 Effect: Phases out targets in the explosion. |
 Vortex Grenade - Unstable |
Phys: 1 Mass: 0.20 Value: 600 ID: 01000802 Effect: Has unpredictable effects. |
There are five Vortex Grenades you can craft in Starfield: Shattered Space, each with its own unique effect. Choose which one is right for you depending on your situation in combat.

How to Craft Vortex Grenades
Craft at Industrial Workbench
You can craft Vortex Grenades at any Industrial Workbench. On Dazra, you can find one inside Hollow Bluff Depot after progressing through the A House Divided quest.
You can also craft an industrial workbench inside your ship, or at any of your Outposts. Likewise, you can easily find a workbench in Ship Services at The Key or in the basement of The Lodge in Jemison.

You can craft each grenade given the above materials. You can farm these materials by defeating Vortex Horrors and Vortex Phantoms found all over Va'ruun'kai.
Craft All Grenades To Receive Achievement
Crafting all five Vortex Grenades rewards you with the Five of a Kind achievement, which is a new achievement released alongside the Shattered Space DLC.

How to Unlock Vortex Grenades
Finish The Promised, Broken Quest
Talk to Ekris Kaisir at the end of the main story quest The Promised, Broken. After talking to him, you will automatically learn how to craft all five Vortex Grenades at any industrial workbench.
