How to Get Ammo

Buy From Vendors

Starfield - Buy from Vendors

You can buy ammo from vendors such as the vendors from the Trade Authority or in UC Exchange. Consider unlocking the Commerce Skill, as it will reduce the prices of what vendors sell.

Loot Ammo From Dead Bodies and Containers

Loot From Enemies

Ammo can be looted from containers and enemies you've killed. Having the Scavenging Skill at Rank 2 gives you a chance to find extra ammo in containers.

How to Get More Ammo

Loot Weapons and Drop Them After

Taking weapons will also give you ammo. You'll receive a full mag of whichever ammo your looted weapon uses if that weapons hasn't been fired yet. If, for example, the weapon was fired twice before picking it up, then you'll receive a full mag with two less ammo.

If they're common weapons, you can drop them after to avoid being encumbered.
