Starfield has an equipment Skin feature that allows player to modify the appearance of their item. Skins are a cosmetic option you can apply to your equipment through the different workbenches in-game.
This feature is exclusive to the premium edition of the game and as pre-order bonus. There is no confirmation of any skin DLCs in the future.
How to Hide | |
---|---|
Hide both spacesuit and helmet by pressing the RB Button on your Xbox controller or pressing T on your keyboard for PC players. This transmog option lets you configure whether your suit and helmet are visible when exploring specific locations, while allowing you to keep their equipped armor stats.
Hiding your helmet and suit in Starfield is allowed only in settlements and breathable areas. It would be dangerous and deadly if you were to remove your helmet in space!
The only other option to change your appearance in-game is to change the equipment you wear. This option will affect the stats of your character.
You can apply skins to weapons and armor pieces to their respective workbenches.
Select the item you want to change skins on in the workbench menus. Select the Skin Mod Slot and choose the skin you want to apply.
The Old Mars Skin is only available to users that pre-ordered the game. And can be applied after finishing the One Small Step Quest.
Pre-Order Bonus Guide
The Constellation Skin is for players who upgrade to the Premium or Constellation Editions of the Game. The skin will be unlocked in-game after finishing the Old Neighborhood Quest.
