Zero G is an environmental trait that forces the player and enemies in an area with Zero Gravity in Starfield. Read on to learn more about the effects of Zero-G, Zero-G areas, and more!
List of Contents
When in Zero-G Areas, movement and combat will change as compared to when in other planets. Generally, you, your enemies, and other objects will be floating around, and will be able to move around primarily through propulsion.
When in Zero-G Areas, firing any sort of Ballistic Weapon will knock you back slightly, potentially throwing off your aim and positioning. For this reason, it may be beneficial to use Laser Weapons, as these do not knock you back.
Boarding enemy ships are one of the common areas where you can fight in Zero Gravity. Boarding other ships or getting boarded will likely be a common occurrence, as Hijacking is one way to obtain new ships or loot contraband.
Players will sometimes encounter Staryards or Space Stations while they fly around the orbit of a planet or a moon. You can dock your ship onto these facilities and enter them, but mostly only the abandoned ones are Zero-G.
When using the Scanner, players can see that each planet has its own Gravity coefficient. Some planets will have Low Gravity which lets you jump higher and float in the air for longer, but there are no planets that are Zero-G.
