Red Tape Runaround is a side quest in Starfield. See how to unlock Red Tape Runaround, rewards, and how to complete it.
Planet Started | Mars, Sol System |
---|---|
Location | Cydonia |
Prerequisites | None |
Quest Giver | Trevor Petyarre |
Rewards | ・EXP: 100 ・Credits: Leveled Amount of Credits |
Go to Peter Brennan's office located on the top floor of the corporate building. His office can be found near the computer where you deleted the candidates' applications earlier during the Red Tape Blues side quest.
For your first task as Executive Assistant, talk to Governor Hurst in his office just across Peter's office quarters to ask about a shipment delivery.
Before you can get the shipment, you'll need to find and destroy Hurst's spacecraft first which was stolen by Crimson Fleet Pirates.
Head over to Umbriel in the Sol System. You'll find Hurst's ship flying around the airspace of the planet. The pilot seems to be in trouble and will ask you to come aboard the ship.
You can skip having to come aboard and blow up Hurst's ship immediately since he instructed you to just destroy the spacecraft upon finding it. Be prepared for space combat as the pirates won't go down without a fight.
Should You Destroy Governor Hurst's Ship?
If you choose not to destroy the ship, you can find a note on a corpse marked by a quest marker. You will see Hurst's note that contains information that can get him fired as the Governor. You can grab it and submit it to CDR Woodard to expose Hurst's corruption and illegal activities.
You can still proceed to the quest normally after this, so you can get your rewards from Hurst before the authorities take action against him!
If you boarded the spacecraft, the pirate leader will ask you for spare ship parts so they could repair the broken vessel. You can either donate a ship part, lie that you don't have any, or attack all the pirates aboard.
Remember, your primary objective is to just get rid of Hurst's spacecraft so it might be best to hop back to your ship to destroy it.
Report back to Hurst and tell him you've destroyed the stolen spacecraft, even if it's a lie. But before that, you can also get an extra 5000 Credits from him if you choose the "How about you pay me a little extra to keep this all quiet?" from the options.
He'll give you the shipment after telling him about the ship. Go back to Peter Brennan's office and deliver the package to him.
Access Brennan's personal computer in his office. Open up Requests, select the Replacement Mining Equipment, then hit Approve.
