How to Complete the Vanguard Pilot Simulator

To complete the Vanguard Piloting Exam, you will need to take out a number of enemy ships in the flight simulator. The difficulty increases each time you move on to the next tier of the piloting exam.

The flight simulation will automatically end if you lose all your ship's health. When this happens, you will restart from the current tier.

Use the Debug Controls of the Flight Simulator Computer

You can find a computer called Simulator Controls at the entrance of the flight simulator. Interact with it to give your simulated ship access to a shield upgrade, damage upgrade, and an ally.

Note that you can only use these for one Tier only. However, you can make this feature accessible for all Tiers by hacking the computer to access the Authorized Users only selection.

Access Authorized Users Only function to get upgrades for all tiers

You need to reach Rank 2 of the Security skill in order to access the Authorized Users only selection on the terminal. You also need some Digipicks to hack it as it is an Advanced lock.

Once you successfully hack the computer, you can choose to get Infinite Upgrades that are available for all tiers and anr ally to help you out.

If you cannot complete the Vanguard Simulation test, you may need to put skill points to the Piloting skill. Leveling up this skill allows you to ulitize ship thrusters at Rank 1 and improves ship turning rate and maneuverability at Rank 2.

What Happens When You Reach Vanguard Simulation Tier 6?

Obtain 20,000 Credits

Completing Tier 6 of the flight simulation test gives you a total of 20,000 Credits at the end of the Supra Et Ultra faction quest.

Get Unique Dialogue When You Use the Debug Controls

Commander Tuala will acknowledge in a dialogue if you use the debug controls of the flight simulator computer.

In addition, he wil also comment if you hack the computer to access the Authorized Users only button and if you successfully completed Tier 6 of the flight simulation test.
