Ballistic Turrets for General Use

Both Tick and Laser Turrets deal EM Damage, which deals more damage to enemy shields, but less damage to enemy HP. This makes these turrets useful in some cases.

Ballistic Turrets on the other hand deal Phys Damage, which is useful against all enemies since only some enemies have shields, but all enemies have HP.

How to Get Outpost Defenses

Craft Them Using Resources

All modules have a required amount of resources to craft them. Once you've acquired these resources, you can store them in your inventory, with your companion, or on your ship and the game will still consider the crafting conditions met.

Take note that some modules also require power while others have a hard limit on how many of those modules you can craft.
