Environmental Damage Explanation
Starfield - Thermal Damage▼Thermal Damaged caused by extreme heat or cold.
Starfield - Airborne Damage▼Airborne Damage from contaminants and disease.
Starfield - Corrosive Damage▼Corrosive Damage from substances, weapons, or environments that cause decay.
Starfield - Radiation Damage▼Radiation Damage from radioactive environments or items.

Thermal

Starfield - Thermal Damage from the Atmosphere

Thermal damage is incurred when exposed to extreme temperatures.

You are likely to encounter this type of environmental damage on planets and moons with severe climates or at locations set up by hostile parties and factions.

Airborne

Airborne damage is likely caused by contaminants from a planet's atmosphere, flora, and fauna. In addition, enemies may have items or throwables that can inflict airborne damage.

When afflicted, it can likely cause a decrease in HP or other debuffs.

Corrosive

Corrosive damage is likely caused by harmful substances from throwables or the local flora and fauna.

Once afflicted, corrosive damage may have a passive effect similar to poison.

Radiation

Radiation damage in Starfield could possibly follow Fallout 4, where radiation affects your maximum health.
